About Me

My name is Brian Gardner and I created this site. If you spend enough time around here, you'll notice that I have a sincere passion for life.

I've been happily married to Shelly for over a decade, and have a son named Zach.

Among the things that I really enjoy doing are traveling and listening to music such as Sarah McLachlan and Dave Matthews Band.

I've always been a contemplative person, and believe in Carpe Diem. That means I should be in the Dead Poet's Society.

Want more? Well here ya go, my friend.

I want to live deliberately and to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

That is what this website is all about – me living deliberately and simple like Thoreau did so many years ago near Walden Pond.

The miracle isn't that I finished.
The miracle is that I had the courage to start.

Five years ago I started a revolution.
This became what is known as the
premium theme market in WordPress.

Genesis Framework

My Themes

7 years ago I had the urge to start a blog. At the time, I wasn't happy with the way themes were designed, so I took matters into my own hands.

It started out as a freelance design business and became a company called StudioPress.

We developed the Genesis Framework, which Mashable calls the "best of the best" among WordPress premium frameworks.

As a person who thoroughly enjoys the creative process, I can quickly and easily build beautiful websites.

Take a look at my WordPress Themes.

Because WordPress and Genesis are 100% GPL-licensed, the development communities in both are flourishing. This is something that makes me very proud to be a part of.

Whether it be writing "how-to" tutorials or sharing CSS tricks, I really love to help folks learn how to build things the right way.
