Diane Kruger is just as comfortable making a stylish turn at the supermarket as she is at a red carpet event.

The German actress showed off her star quality when she wore a typically well put together ensemble for a trip to Whole Foods.

The Troy star wore a pair of loose fitting denim dungarees and a straw trilby for the visit to the Los Angeles supermarket.

The outfit had a trompe-l'oeil effect as when Diane turned around, it became clear that her back was bared to the warm California sunshine thanks to wearing a cropped black T-shirt.

She opted to shorten the baggy overalls by pinch-rolling the cuffs, making her overall look even cooler.

A pair of leather pumps made sure the outfit kept a fashionable edge and did not veer in to DIY territory.

The 36-year old carried a large beige bag with red lining, which matched the front half of her two-tone pumps.

Diane had her hair tied back in a low, messy bun, and hid her eyes behind a pair of large sunglasses.

She was joined on the errand by her long term partner, ex-Dawson's Creek actor Joshua Jackson.

The couple have lately been travelling to different events and US cities together as Diane promotes her new film, The Host.

The science fiction thriller was written by Twilight author Stephanie Meyers, and is hotly anticipated by fans of the vampire romance series.

Speaking to Refinery 29, Diane opened up about her part in the film and how the director's strong vision of what her character, an alien referred to as The Seeker, should wear proved tricky.

'Trust me, if it was me, white in the desert would not be my first choice. The sand sticks on it. I couldn’t sit anywhere because they didn’t want the bloody pants to wrinkle. It was a nightmare,' she said.

Joshua, 34, was also dressed down for their afternoon trip, and wore a white T-shirt and jeans.

Like a true gentleman, he pushed the heavily-laden shopping trolley back to their car.

After shooting to fame in Dawson's Creek, he is back starring in a hit television series.

He has been playing Peter Bishop in the crime drama, which is the brainchild of Lost writer J. J Abrams.

Can you believe she's turning 37 this year? Absolutely stunning, and she pulls off overalls better than girls half her age.
