Her ensemble may have been rather casual for a Hollywood movie star, but Charlize Theron still managed to carry off the low key look to maximum effect on Wednesday.

The 5’10” former model jetted out of New York in a pair of skin-tight denim jeans which showed off her long slim legs and enviable figure.

The star wrapped up warm against the Manhattan cold in a double breasted trench coat and patterned scarf, which she swapped for a black blazer and T-shirt after arriving in Los Angeles.

The 37-year old star wore her blonde hair in its now familiar cropped style, and completed her look with dark sunglasses, brown heeled ankle boots and a red and black bag.

She looked in serious mood as she strode through the terminal, with an assistant wheeling her cases.

The actress has recently been spotted out and about in Boston where she is producing TV pilot Hatfields & McCoys.

The show will be set in present-day Pittsburgh, when a startling death reignites the feud between the families.

Decades of resentment are unleashed as the blue-collar McCoys try to overcome the Hatfields' wealth and power as they go to war for control of the city.

The Prometheus star first cut her teeth producing Monster, Sleepwalking, The Burning Plain, and documentaries East of Havana and Angels in Exile.

The pilot stars Sophia Bush, James Remar, Rebecca De Mornay, and Virginia Madsen.

Acting wise, the star will appear in the Mad Max reboot Fury Road, which will co-star Tom Hardy and Nicholas Hoult and be released next year.

She is also set to star in Seth MacFarlane's comedy film A Million Ways to Die in the West.
