Baby love: Elsa Pataky holds her bundle of joy close as curious little India explores her surroundings

With such gorgeous parents, baby India was bound to be good looking.

But the nine-month-old was more than cute as she squirmed to see her surroundings, while safely tucked in mother Elsa Pataky's arms.

The 36-year-old Spanish actress and model carried her curious tot outside for a daytime excursion in the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Santa Monica on Monday.

Elsa, who is married to Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, wore an Indian blanket jacket as she carted their daughter along in the warm California sunshine.

The Wine of Summer producer continued the boho chic theme with soft leather boots and brown skinny jeans.

Placing the final touches on her casual ensemble the mother-of-one donned aviator sunglasses and a series of thin gold chains.

The youngster was even more comfortably attired for the excursion in bright pink leggings and ankle high socks.

But she was sure to keep warm in a white jumper that perfectly complimented her rosy complexion.

In a recent interview with Us Weekly her father, Chris, explained how his daughter's name came about: 'It was just a name we liked.

'I always kind of liked Indie or Indiana for a boy, and she liked India. We sort of went, "Oh well, whether it's a boy or girl, that will decide." It just seemed to fit.'

The Avengers star added that his daughter 'sleeps very well. Not out of any skill on my behalf, but my wife has been amazing.'

I love babies at this age just the right amount of chubbiness, my neice is 9 months also and shes built just the same...squidgy and cuddly, just as babies should be :-)
