Mr Nasty is back! Simon Cowell reveals he'll return to be 'more involved' in this year's X Factor
|
Simon Cowell has said he will have a more hands-on role on The X Factor as he considers it to be his "baby".
The star quit the panel to work on his US version of the show and has not been a judge for the past two years but in an interview with Hello! magazine he promised he would be coming back.
Last year's series - won by James Arthur - saw a massive slump in viewers and programme bosses have been looking at ways to rekindle the audience's interest in the show.

He's back: Simon Cowell has revealed he will be return to the next series of The X Factor UK - revealing he'll have more of a hands on role
Cowell, who will be back on screens next month with the return of Britain's Got Talent, said: 'I'm definitely getting more involved and will have a role in the next series.
'I'm not going to lie - I do miss doing it, because it's like my baby.
'It's been difficult the last two years not being on the show as I always had a great time and the last time that I did do it, it was such a brilliant year.
'So at some point of course I'm going to come back and do the show.'

As it was: Simon had confirmed to Hello! magazine he'll come back in some sort of guise as he misses 'his baby' (the show)
He spoke to the magazine at a fundraising event for children's charity Shooting Star Chase at the Dorchester Hotel in London attended by the Duchess of York, Phillip Schofield, JLS, Peter Andre and X Factor star Jahmene Douglas.
Cowell said that it was preparing to attend the event which led to him posting a number of emotional messages on Twitter hours beforehand.
'I think it played on my mind when I was sending the tweets, sometimes you have those nights, and it was a marathon work session on the phone as well, where afterwards you fall straight asleep or lie there thinking.

'More involved': He left the UK version to appear on his new US version but now wants to help boost the British version once again
'And I was thinking I had a lot to be thankful for. Even if I didn't have what I have materially, I haven't got a sick child,' he said.
Last Tuesday the Syco boss wrote 17 messages in less than an hour - more than he usually posts on the site.
He posted about his latest
TV shows, his health, the secret to happiness and how overcoming
obstacles in life is 'fun' in the series of tweets to the social
networking site.

Busy man: Cowell has been concentrating on appearing on his US version of the singing talent show
Simon began by apologising for not posting over the past four days and addressed The X Factor.
He wrote: 'There will be a lot of changes on X factor uk and USA. But good changes. I feel excited for both shows this year.'
The 53-year-old then went on to promote stars signed to his label and wrote: 'One direction continue to amaze me. Hard workers but still the nicest guys you could hope to work with.'

Hectic: Simon is also returning to judge this years Britain;s Got Talent with David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden
He
also wrote about his Emblem 3, Fifth Harmony and Tate from the US
version of his show, before mentioning Ella Henderson and James Arthur
from the UK talent show.
Simon
revealed he had seen some early footage of the One Direction movie
calling it 'very, very exciting' and he also promoted the Paul Potts
film, which he labelled 'brilliant'.
After listing everything he has been working on he then told his 6.5million followers that friends and family matter more than work.
The full interview is in the latest edition of Hello! magazine, which is out now.
