Thor blimey! Chris Hemsworth puts his muscles to good use as he carries baby India during outing with wife Elsa

He has spent countless hours in the gym building the body he needs to play god of thunder Thor.

And Chris Hemsworth put his bulging biceps to good use when he carried daughter India during an outing with wife Elsa in Malibu on Thursday.

The man mountain got an impromptu workout in as he was left holding the baby as they went for a wander in the Californian celebrity enclave.

The 29-year-old beefcake Aussie was in a jolly mood as he went for a family walkabout.

And he looked close to his best in a grey T-shirt, jeans, casual shoes, baseball cap and celebrity standard issue sunglasses.

However proud father Chris would surely agree he was left firmly in the shade by his ambrosial 10-month-old daughter, who looked cute as a button in a red hooded top and turquoise trousers.

The actor is surely making the most of his time off while he can.

For it looks like he may be spending time away from Los Angeles when filming for Marvel’s The Avengers 2, set for release May 2015.

Josh Whedon is returning to write and direct the sequel, with Chris, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L Jackson, Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo.

Apparently filming for the superhero flick will take place at Buckinghamshire’s Shepperton studios, where Thor 2: The Dark World was also recorded.

Family man: And the gentleman made sure wife Elsa enjoyed an encumbrance free stroll

Chap in a cap: But it seems it was slightly uncomfortable as the action star was seen adjusting it as he walked

Did Elsa dye her hair blonde? I just feel that she and Miley are in some sort of competition on who can pull short hair better.....hardly look like they get along like a house on fire even though their other halfs are brothers.

I like it that she dresses stylish but casual, thinking of confort and wearing trainers, unlike I-don't-smile-only-pout with her sky high heels, putting the child in danger.
