Easing the tension! Kim Kardashian is pampered at the nail salon... as judge refuses her request to move divorce trial date forward

She has been embroiled in messy divorce proceedings from Kris Humphries for more than a year now.

So it's unsurprising that pregnant Kim Kardashian is keen to get her impending divorce trial from the basketball star over and done with as soon as possible.

However, the 32-year-old reality show star's request to move the court date forward - because it clashed with a perfume launch - was denied by a judge on Wednesday.

Court documents say the star, who was indulging in a pampering session in Los Angeles, asked that the planned May 6 court date be moved up to May 3 due to a previously scheduled work event in New York City.

TMZ reports that the planned event is a new perfume launch.

However, Kim's requested date change was scuppered by Humphries who said that the proposed day did not work with his calendar.

The website reports that attorneys for the couple will meet next week in a final attempt at a settlement before going to trial.

Humphries has requested an annulment on the grounds of fraud or if the court will not grant an annulment, a decree of legal separation rather than Kim's requested divorce.

Luckily Kim was able to get a mani-pedi at a Beverly Hills nail salon to take her mind off the setback.

After returning to Los Angeles from Paris on Tuesday night looking jet-lagged, Kim, 32, was up bright and early for a workout at the gym, followed by the pampering session at the nail salon.

With her body clock nine hours ahead of West Coast time, Kim was still essentially in the dark, keeping her tired eyes firmly hidden behind a pair of shades.

Her sunglasses remained fixed to her head as she walked through a dimly-lit underground car park and while she was tended to inside the salon.

She wore a casual workout ensemble, teamed with a sheer black top, sneakers and a designer bag.

And the star looked in good spirits as she had her finger and toe nails tended to by two technicians.

Kim has just returned from an Easter break in the French capital where she spent some quality time with boyfriend and baby daddy Kanye West.

The pregnant reality star was seen at the airport on Tuesday where Kanye, 35, waved her off with a tender kiss before she travelled home solo.

The happy couple were seen smooching as Kim got out of her car before heading into the departures lounge.

Kim was dressed casually for her long-haul flight, wearing an all black ensemble and comfortable trainers.

She arrived back at LAX later looking a little tired, revealing her white bra beneath her sheer top as a parting shot for the eager paparazzi.

Earlier on Tuesday Kim was spotted out with Kanye, sporting the same relaxed ensemble.

Kim's decision to swap her heels for trainers comes just days after she admitted that the pregnancy has caused her feet to swell.

She said: 'My foot is so swollen. I will say. It really is. And I'm sad. You know, because all my shoes don't really fit me anymore. But I heard it goes back. Hopefully.'

However, Kim - who is due to give birth in July - added that she has become so used to wearing towering heels that changing to flats has been somewhat difficult.

She added: 'I just bought my first pair of flats the other day. And I wore them. They are so uncomfortable. Like, my heels are so comfortable.'

she is always having a haircut or her nails done. why not get some of the time she spends doing those things and launch her perfume instead of trying to do this on the same date she needs to go to court? strange, huh
