As a working mother-of-two Jessica Alba has found the perfect balance between her Hollywood acting career and her role as a mother.

The Fantastic 4 actress has starred in a number of big budget movies, but has changed her approach to her day job since having children.

At 31-years-old she is still one of the big screen's most in demand stars, however, Jessica is in no hurry to embark on another film project.

Speaking to Britain's Glamour magazine, she said: 'When you have kids, you kind of think, 'I don't need to work just to work.'

'I want to sink my teeth into a character that makes it worth not being with my kids, or not being at the office.'

Alba has stayed true to her word and after appearing in six films over 2010 and 2011, she then concentrated on parenthood and didn't release anything last year.

She told the magazine: 'Having kids, having strong relationships with my husband, my friends, that it is my priority... that's what really defines me, not a tabloid or a movie opening or a poster or an endorsement.'

Although her acting has taken a backseat in recent months Alba has kept busy with her own eco-friendly lifestyle company, The Honest Company.

Jessica, who has daughters Honor, four, and 20-month-old Haven with husband Cash Warren, launched The Honest Company after becoming a mother.

The collection specialises in organically-produced nappies, baby wipes and bath products, which the star uses on her own children.

She created the company because she feared big brand baby products could be harmful to her little ones.

She told the magazine: 'I am not approaching it like an actress, I'm approaching it like a mum, and I just want the best for my family and I feel like all mums do. You can't really argue with that.'

Her successful venture as an entrepreneur has not clouded her judgement as to whether she is an actress or a business woman.

She said: 'I am both... As you are building your career you make certain choices, and I didn't know how to not work, and I didn't know how to discern what I wanted to do or not do. I was just like, bring it.'

With her multitasking and smart business acumen Jessica has emerged a strong role model for aspiring women all over the world.

But, it is First Lady and activist Eleanor Roosevelt who she claims inspires her to stay motivated.

Jessica told Glamour: 'The perseverance she had made the world a better place for women, for the civil rights movement, just all the things that she did for veterans, teachers.

'She was one woman who dreamt big and didn't take no for an answer.'

Never liked this self-obssessed empty-headed egomaniac. Hard to tie that lovely face to her nasty personality. From the looks of it, people are finally seeing her for what she is. Except for the ones who are still gushing about her clothes and claiming to know what designer they're from. Pathetic. No I'm not jealous, I just don't like her.

It's a good thing she wants to focus on her kids and other business, because she can't act for crap.

She is one of the most beautiful actresses there is. Along with Natalie Portman, Rosario Dawson, and Isla Fisher. You cannot beat natural beauty.

Haha, this is hilarious. First off she doesn't spend much time with her kids anyway (between doing her Honest company thing even though she's a chain smoker, and flitting all over the world with her silly friends attending fashion shows and openings of envelopes), so how can she talk about movies taking her away from her kids when she's great at doing it in her general day to day life? She leaves them all the time with their two nannies while she lives the good life......alone! And then when the kids DO appear, they get toted around in front of the paps to make it look like she spends all this great quality time with them, when in fact she's just using them for yet another photo opportunity. SUCH A HYPROCRITE!
