The X Factor judge captioned her fresh-faced snap with some words of encouragement for her online followers: 'Ladies, be brave today.. take off your make-up and stop using those filters!! WE are beautiful!!!'
The Skyscraper singer showed off her impeccable complexion in the portrait, demonstrating she is clearly not dependent upon her make-up kit.
But the picture was intended to be a clarion call to her dedicated fans - who call themselves Lovatics - and not simply a showcase for her natural good looks.

And the recording artist could not have been more pleased with the trend she ignited.
The former Barney & Friends actress responded with a delighted tweet: 'So many GORGEOUS faces.. Not enough battery left on my phone!!! Haha love you ALL!!!'
But the overwhelming response from her female fans did not go unnoticed by online bullies, who apparently gave some grief to a few of the Lovatics.
Demi advised her fans to not engage with the online detractors, saying: 'To all my Lovatics - if you come across haters, show them love.
'We don't bully back or retaliate. That's not what we are about!!'
Demi has recently announced the upcoming release of her self-titled record, due May 14, which will be her fourth studio album.
The record release comes after a far more personal victory for the young singer, who has struggled with mental illness and substance abuse.
Demi successfully completed a stay at a rehab facility where she was receiving treatment in late January.
Since that time Demi is said to have been residing in a sober-living facility.
