'I pride myself on keeping a low-profile': Lindsay Lohan makes fun of her troubled history in self-deprecating new trailer for Scary Movie 5

Lindsay Lohan has been known for many things over the years but self-deprecation has not been one of them - until now.

A newly released clip from Scary Movie 5 features an uncharacteristically self-aware cameo by the 26-year-old.

The troubled actress shares the screen with equally notorious celebrity Charlie Sheen for the satirical turn.

Televised: The starlet's most recent scandal brought to light

Lindsay's scene, which depicts a spoof on Paranormal Activity, has her revisiting many of her previous scandals.

In the sequence the former teen idol, who is entering court-ordered rehab any day now, gets steamy with Charlie in his bedroom.

The two are apparently about to make a sex tape when Lindsay makes the tongue-in-cheek remark: 'I don't want to end up all over the internet.

'I pride myself on keeping a low-profile.'

She then says with a straight-face: 'My private life is private.'

Charlie's only reply to the facetious declaration is a simple: 'Hmmm.'

Once in bed, the Anger Management star tries to put the moves on his young co-star but is promptly rejected - but not from Lindsay herself.

The actor was repelled by a shock delivered by a device hooked onto the actress' wrist.

Lindsay explains: 'Sorry, it's my sobriety monitor.'

But she was not the only one to self-deprecate.

After the 47-year-old is bounced around a bit by an invisible poltergeist - his manhood severely trounced in a doorjamb - the 80s heartthrob looks directly into the camera and says: 'I've come back from worse than this.'

But Lindsay is horrified by another specter entirely that has been haunting her in real life.

The recording artist screamed upon seeing herself on television - as her recent scandals in court are reported by a news agency. The ticker simply stated: 'No deal for Lindsay.'

But that was not all. The sneak peak also featured a hit-and-run.

Charlie is seen being hit by a Porsche in his own bedroom and is thrown clear of the cameras.

Not surprisingly the driver of the vehicle is none other than Lindsay who pops out of the Porsche, tossing the keys to a Leonardo Dicaprio lookalike, exclaiming: 'You were driving.'

The scene was a reference to Lindsay's scandal last year, for which she was recently sentenced to 90 days in rehab after pleading 'no contest' to charges for reckless driving and lying to police investigating her car crash last June in Santa Monica, California.

The clip is a scathing satire on the star's troubled history with drugs, the law, and behavioral issues.

And apparently Lindsay did her best to get out of filming the sequence up until the day of shooting.

The troubled starlet allegedly tried to avoid shooting the scene by missing her flight to the set in Atlanta in September last year - and even went to a hospital claiming to be suffering from 'walking pneumonia'.

A Hollywood insider told the New York Post newspaper last year: 'Lindsay missed every meeting she had for the film, including script reads and wardrobe meetings.

'Then she missed her flight to Atlanta on Sunday to shoot the movie. The producers had been getting signs Friday that she was a mess, and would not be fit to work.

'She is under contract - so to get out of it, she had to prove that she was sick. She tried to prove she has walking pneumonia.'

Lindsay was thought, at the time, to be particularly concerned about the horror spoof's script - which featured the self-satirizing scene with Charlie.

A source added at the time: 'It went pretty hard at Lindsay. She'd been freaking out about it for weeks.'

Another insider told the publication in early September: 'She's been locked up in her room at the Bowery Hotel. She's been in a tailspin. Even Charlie Sheen worried she might not be able to do the scene.'

But a representative for Lindsay claimed she had been willing to fulfill all her obligations for filming.

They explained: 'These stories are untrue, and she is willingly fulfilling all of her obligations.'

Scary Movie 5 is scheduled for release this month.
