Exploring Immune-Based Therapy for Childhood Cancers

More than 75 percent of children with cancer are cured, but challenges remain. Researchers with NCI's Pediatric Oncology Branch are conducting research exploring modified immune-based therapies for use in children.

Provocative Questions Funding Available

Funding is available to researchers with bold approaches to 24 questions identified by the oncology community as part of NCI’s Provocative Questions initiative. Submit a letter of intent by May 20, 2013. Applications are due June 20, 2013.

Clinical Researchers Asked to Help Improve the Reporting of Adverse Side Effects

NCI is updating its widely used Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE) and seeks comments from users. CTCAE is the standard by which oncology professionals classify and grade the adverse side effects experienced by some patients during cancer treatment.
