The red hair gives her away! Julianne Moore fails to stay low key in a casual outfit as she takes a stroll with husband Bart

She may have been wearing an casual all-black outfit and oversized sunglasses, but there was still no mistaking Julianne Moore as she took a stroll around New York on Tuesday.

The Oscar nominated actress's stunning red hair was all-too distinctive as she joined her husband Bart Freudlich for a romantic stroll around the West Village.

The 52-year-old actress held on to Bart's arm and seemed to be enjoying the sunshine for their walk about town.

The stylish star sported cropped baggy black trousers, a short loose fitting black T-shirt and clog style black shoes for her trip out.

Her film director and screenwriter husband, who at 43-years-old is nearly ten years her junior, looked equally casual in tracksuit bottoms and a grey sweater over a green T-shirt.

The couple met on the set of 1996 film The Myth of Fingerprints which Bart wrote and directed before marrying in 2003.

Casual couple: Julianne and her husband have been married for nine years, and been together for more than 20

They have two children, a 15-year-old son Caleb, and a daughter Liv, ten.

The actress once said that the secret to keeping marriage alive was spending time alone.

'I think you need to be away from your children,' she told In Style back in 2011. 'Doing the mommy stuff does sort of squash that area of your life.

'I can feel [sexy] when I'm alone with Bart or when we take a trip,' she added.

Julianne will next be seen in the remake of Carrie, where she stars alongside Chloë Grace Moretz who plays the title character.
