You Can Expect New Music From A Perfect Circle… Just Not A New Album Anytime Soon

New Music

Not too long ago, guitarist Billy Howerdel teased that A Perfect Circle were indeed working on new music. And when they confirmed plans for their first North American tour in six years, we couldn’t help but wonder if fans might get treated to a first listen of said new music. Well, we no longer have to wonder as Howerdel confirmed during an interview with Anne Erickson at Audio Ink Radio that A Perfect Circle indeed plans to perform new material on the tour. “We’re still kind of in the creative process of them, but we have every intention of playing them live. I’m really looking forward to it,” Howerdel confirmed to the podcast.

However, fans excited about a new APC album shouldn’t hold their breath. Howerdel was also quick to point out the following during the interview:

“No album right now. Songs will trickle in as they’re written and as needed, so maybe next year that will come together as a bigger collection of songs. But right now, there won’t be an album.”

So it looks like you’ll have to catch A Perfect Circle live this Summer if you’re dying to hear new music (unless you don’t mind low quality YouTube videos taken from a show). This update, though, doesn’t come as too much of a surprise. Howerdel is still keeping Ashes Divide active while singer Maynard Keenan’s other band (Tool) is reportedly in the studio as well. Sure, they can juggle multiple projects at the same time, but seeing as how busy they’ve been lately, it’s astonishing that they’ve even found the time to write together. So major kudos to them!

You can listen to the entire podcast interview over at Audio Ink Radio’s website. We’ll keep you posted if more develops.
