The Philadelphia Inquirer

PHILADELPHIA–At the time, it must have seemed like the ultimate work-study program.

Ashley Baldwin, a 15-year-old sophomore at University City High School who was thinking of becoming a doctor, got a job at one of the busiest clinics in West Philadelphia.

She was paid, and in no time went from answering phones to doing ultrasounds, administering intravenous medicine, and, ultimately, assisting in abortions performed by her mentor, Kermit Gosnell.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell is charged with the murder of 7 children.

Baldwin also told the jury about seeing at least five aborted babies moving, breathing, and, in one case, “screeching” after late-term procedures at the clinic.

In Pennsylvania, abortions are legal up to 24 weeks of pregnancy. After that, medical experts say, a fetus is capable of living outside the womb.

“They looked just like regular babies,” Baldwin said.

Baldwin said one baby was so big that Gosnell joked that “this baby is going to walk me home.”

www.charlotteobserver.com...

Every once in a while, an abortion thread pops up that causes quite a stir. Tempers flare then fade, and ATS goes back to gun threads and alien threads.

This isn't being talked about much in the MSM, hence the absence of threads on the subject (I think)

But I just wanted anyone, everyone aware of the consequences of abortions, late term abortions and th fact that we are talking about life here.

Mods, if it's already been said, then take me out back and beat me with bamboo sticks and delete this thread and ruin my credit rating!

Not that I blame you for posting it Beezer. I get it.

I wish I could find some happy stories.

That is the challenge these days isn't it.

I hate feeling like I'm self-righteous, so I tend to avoid these threads. I also don't have a specific religious/spiritual objection to abortion.... but at some point in the fetal development, it's just more than wrong.

That's just my opinion.

Thanks for chiming in! I'm against abortion, personally, but this transcends abortion, in my humble.

This is a sick murderer trying to justify his actions.

The reason why I posted this is to ask, why isn't this being debated? Why isn't this being talked about?

Why isn't this headline news?

I think it is not being debated because IMO there is nothing to debate.

This guy was a sick psycho, end of story. He is going to go to jail, or worse.

What is there to debate?

No, actually this is abortion.

It's always been murder. We've just been purposely kept from the details...until now.

Thanks for shining the spotlight.

He (according to some) was performing late-term abortions.

I thought it merited a discussion.

Truth!

But murder has always been determined by the age of the developing human being.

Anything under a certain time-frame? Dead, legally.

Past that time-frame? Murder.

WTH???

It is and it does but everybody has their own opinion on it and so if we are talking Time magazine or CNN or your local newspapers then you are at the mercy of their opinions. We all have to make the choice on how we feel about it. Sometimes that is hard to do when we are influenced by so many different opinions.

I personally feel that this problem could be solved if smaller communities were formed and encouraged to operate as small villages. We are lost in the digital market and we want more, in fact we demand more.

To solve this problem as well as so many others that plague our society we would all have to give up on our grand ideals of personal gain and think of ourselves more like the Ants.

Well in a nut shell thats my two cents IMHO

If its not a child at conception then it's not a child as a late term fetus, right?

Why is this more barbaric than any other time? After all, these aborted fetuses weren't actually born and breathing yet, right?

Thanks for sharing. I guess my opinion was formed by my two sons.

Media holds little power in the beezzer household.

Were not the abortions he was performing already illegal?

Is not discussing the legality of an already illegal practice redundant?
