Pretty in pink! Quirky Zooey Deschanel goes all girlie in full skirted dress as she films new She And Him music video

She prides herself on her studiously quirky demeanour.

And Zooey Deschanel managed to outdo herself yet again by donning a girlie pink dress as she got ready to film a music video in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old star looked in a jolly mood as she waited for the cameras to start rolling as she recorded scenes in the sunny Glendale area.

And she looked younger than her years thanks to her 50s style dress and an expertly applied mask of make-up.

Zooey is one half of musical duo She and Him along with Matthew Ward, and it is likely the video is for their latest single I Could’ve Been Your Girl, which is released next month.

She patiently stood with her arms folded as an assistant applied some final touch ups moments before filming began.

The New Girl star was raring to go, and stood outside the building with her arms aloft as some lackeys prepared to open the doors as shooting began.

Quirky Zooey, who has made a small fortune playing wacky characters in TV and film, previously revealed she does not like the word everyone uses to describe her.

She said: 'It's an annoying word. Quirky is like a nice way of saying weird.'

So it is little surprise the actress and singer stayed away from the word when she described her personal style.

She said: 'I would say girlie, flirtatious, colourful. Feminine, maybe, and soft. But yeah, definitely colourful."

Zooey also explained the bizarre criteria she has in mind when she decides on which outfit to wear.

She said: 'What if I need to run away? Just take off at any minute? I want to be able to run away and dance at all times.'

Action: A pair of lackeys opened the double doors so she could make her grand entrance as shooting began

She has the most beautiful of faces, one of the most stunning in Hollywood, her body is not supermodel like, but with a face like that, she doesn't need to have the body of a model!!

Yes she looks great---but why for 33? 33 is quite young unless you are living in Jane Austen's world......I hate unless you are 25 and wear a size 0 you are over the hill and have "lost it." Look, society is never going to change---but it is comments like "good for 33" that will continue to perpetuate low self-esteem and women feeling they are worthless after 30....
