Fifty shades of blue! Kate Hudson, Michelle Williams and Jessica Biel sparkle in stunning gowns at Tiffany party

It was a Blue Book Ball thrown by Tiffany & Co, so many of the stunning star attendees appropriately chose to wear varying shades of blue – and, of course, diamonds.

Kate Hudson, Jessica Biel and Michelle Williams led the glamour at the lavish affair, which was held at the Rockefeller Centre.

Kate looked every inch the blonde bombshell in a strapless mint blue Reem Acra dress with a slit all the way up to the top of her thigh.

The stunning 33-year-old actress teamed the gown with a pair of dazzling Tiffany earrings and a nude clutch bag with peeptoe heels.

And it seems blue was the main dress code of the evening, with Jessica and Michelle also opting for various shades of the colour.

Jessica also chose a sexy gown by Elie Saab, which was black and sheer with strategically placed flowers in blue and purple hues.

Justin Timberlake's wife wore her long brunette hair down in retro waves for the occasion, and accessorised with Tiffany jewels.

Meanwhile Michelle opted for an unusual boxy navy dress for the glamorous occasion.

While the outfit may not have been flattering on every shape, elfin Michelle managed to pull it off, teaming the gown with black sky-high shoes with embellished heels.

But some stars of the evening veered away from blue in favour of bolder colour choices.

Sarah Jessica Parker was glittering in gold while Alice Eve and Doutzen Kroes both stood out in hot pink gowns.

Carey Mulligan went for an entirely different look from her peers in a plunging black cape and matching trousers and T-strap heels.

Also in attendance were Hilary Rhoda, Poppy Delevingne, Ji Hye Park and Carolyn Murphy.

Gwyneth skipped out on the London premiere of Iron Man 3 to attend the event, while Robert Downey Jr. took charge of the red carpet across the pond.

Check out the video footage. Carey Mulligan looks soo uncomfortable. She would clearly rather be elsewhere but she presumably has to be there. And Kate Hudson ..... I wonder if she is a kangaroo or two short in the top paddock.?
