Tektronix to Supply 5,000 Oscilloscopes for US Navy Test Equipment

Tektronix in Beaverton, OR won a $10.8 million firm-fixed-price requirements contract for manufacture of 5,000 oscilloscopes to support the US Navy’s general purpose electronic test equipment (GPETE) weapons system. The GPETE program supports the procurement of test equipment for performing corrective and preventative maintenance to ensure optimum fire control, navigation and communications systems operation.

CDW-G to Supply 10,404 Laptops under ADMC-2 Contract

CDW Government (CDW-G) in Vernon Hills, IL won a $9.9 million firm-fixed-price delivery order under a previously awarded contract (W91QUZ-06-D-0003) for 10,404 general purpose laptops for the operational forces refresh program, which updates aging US military technology. The order includes logistics support requirements. The laptops have a 2-year extended warranty for a total of 5 years.

Delivery of equipment is scheduled to be completed by Sept 27/09, 30 days after receipt of order. Whiting-Turner Contracting in Baltimore, MD won a $181 million firm-fixed-price contract for the design and construction of support facilities for a warrior transition unit (WTU) at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. The work includes the construction of a new bachelor enlisted barracks/dining/administrative facility, physical fitness center, parking garage, and restoration of National Naval Medical Center Building 17 façade.

The MJU-62/B flare is a boron-based infrared countermeasure used on USAF cargo aircraft. It consists of a 1x2x8 inch aluminum case, plastic end cap, felt spacer, safe and initiation device, plastic piston, and flare pellet. It is dispensed and ignited in flight by a BBU-36/B impulse cartridge.
