Every woman needs a friend they can rely on in embarrassing circumstances.

And it was no different for PR guru Fran Cutler at her 50th birthday party on Tuesday after long-time pal Kate Moss came to her rescue.

Wearing a low-cut pink dress - one of the three '80s costumes for her 'Lucky Bitches' themed party at The Box, Fran ended up exposing a bit too much when one of her breasts popped out.

However, fortunately Kate had drawn the 50-year-old close to her own bosom for a photo, so unwittingly protected Fran was exposing her chest to the whole club.

In fact, it was amazing Kate's dress managed to stay, as she too was rocking a very low-cut neckline.

Embracing the '80s 'Lucky Bitches' theme, Kate wore a very plunging black dress, fur coat and silver Louboutin heels as she arrived at the Groucho Club before moving on to The Box.

The 39-year-old looked very Dynasty-esque in her flamboyant eighties outfit, which she teamed with plenty of costume jewellery.

She then moved on to The Box at 9pm, but by the time she left hours later, the mother-of-one was wearing a 'selfish' T-shirt tucked into a strapless black velvet dress.

The vodka-fuelled party at the Soho nightspot had been organised as a surprise by Fran's famous friends.

It was somewhat of a reunion for the old Primrose Hill crowd, who are rarely spotted in a big group together these days.

The professional party planner had been provided with three different '80s-style outfits to wear on the night, including a hot pink dress, a polka-dot ra-ra creation and a dramatic black ruched number.

She teamed her various ensembles with a pair of baby pink slingback Nicholas Kirkwood heels, which she tweeted a photo of earlier that night.

However, Kate was one of the hardcore contingent at the party, eventually emerging from The Box at 4.30am with husband Jamie Hince.

It appeared the rocker had recently injured his hand as had he had his fingers bandaged up.

With photos of Joan Collins as Alexis in Dynasty used on a dress code moodboard given to guests beforehand, the supermodel had certainly embraced the spoilt '80s princess look.

She teamed her statement T-shirt with a black velvet strapless dress and costume jewellery.

Also in attendance was Kate's ex-boyfriend Jefferson Hack - father of her daughter Lila Grace - who was spotted chatting to Stella's photographer sister Mary McCartney.

Pop star Rita, who had attended the Beyonce concert at the O2 Arena earlier that night, arrived with her best friend, model Cara Delevingne.

However, it looked like Cara's attendance at the party may have been a last-minute decision as she wore her signature style of a cropped top and suit.

Also at the party was football agent Dave Gardner, who was recently romantically linked to Rita after she spent the night at his house back in February.

Actor Rhys kicked proceedings by presenting a slideshow of Fran's life in photos, while Noel Fielding did some stand-up comedy.

Then it was over to Primal Scream for a short set, including a performance of Get Your Rocks Off.

Following the band, a host of the famous guests jumped on stage to put on a cabaret act, with Rita, Kate and Cara singing to the birthday girl.

At one point, everyone chimed in for a rendition of Happy Birthday for a clearly tickled Fran.

During the surprise party at The Box, the guests sipped specially created Absolut cocktails in honour of Fran, including ABSOLUTely Frantastic Elyx cocktail and ABSOLUT Madam Cutler.

DJ Jodie Harsh tweeted: 'Fran Cutler's birthday party was off the hook. Primal Scream and Rita Ora performed and Rhys Ifans did a special This Is Your Life!! FUNNN!'
