She struggled a little in her show-stopping Prabal Gurung gown when she attended the Met Ball on Monday night, thanks to it’s long train.
So it’s no surprise that the next morning Emma Watson opted for an easy to wear and super comfortable outfit.
Ditching the glamour and the excess fabric of the night before, she stepped out in New York in a pair of silky cropped trousers, ensuring there was no chance of tripping.
Dressed down: Emma Watson was seen in comfortable looking clothes in New York the day after the Met Ball
But while many people opt for old tracksuit bottoms on their dress-down days, the 23-year-old gave a lesson in keeping it chic.
As well as her super comfy looking trousers she wore a red and white stripe Breton-style top with a cropped sleeved navy jacket.
Giving her feet a rest from the heels she endured the evening before she slipped into a pair of light-tan lace up brogues.
No trip: Emma wore cropped trousers, ensuring there was no chance of tripping
Careful: Emma struggled on the red carpet at the Met Ball with her very long train
However it seems Emma may have been a little on the sleepy side still when she got dressed in the morning as although her outfit was stylish it was a little unmatched.
Her lightened brunette locks had hurriedly been tied off her face, with strands falling around her face and she wore a pair of dark shades.
The look was a far cry from the evening before when she stunned in her dress on the red carpet.
Show stopping: Emma's Prabal Gurung dress not only had a very long train but also cut out detail exposing lots of skin
In a bid to stand out from everyone else at the annual event, the Harry Potter star interpreted the Punk: Chaos to Couture theme in her own way, deciding to flash some flesh.
And the sleek but provocative gown certainly fitted in, the asymmetrical, one-shoulder look creating an avant garde effect.
However the Bling Ring actress struggled with the gown as she made her way up the steps into the gala.
Different side: Emma is set to show her wild star in her new film The Bling Ring
Needing help from an organiser, Emma pulled a grimace as she negotiated the stairs, not wanting to step on the train with her black stilettos.
Emma is gearing up for the release of Sofia Coppola's eagerly-anticipated film, The Bling Ring which will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival later this month.
And it seems the British star just can’t wait as she tweeted: ‘Fittings today. Cannes here I come! #soexcited!’

Is that a British thing; that its 2013, and people still wear clothes that require 1 or 2 other people to help with your dress. ?? Is that a possible career, like a butler ?? She's really cute, though. - an XL-Medium, Minneapolis, 8/5/2013 16:50 No, it's nothing to do with "British" it's a fashion thing. They pick style over comfort and practicality. Not saying that's bad but it's hardly only in Great Britain that women wear a dress requiring help, like a train or something. You see one a year at the Oscars.
