A kiss and a slap! Oprah Winfrey goes from supportive wife to ferocious mother in new full-length trailer for Butler

It has been almost 15 years since Oprah Winfrey starred on the big screen and now she is back, she has no plans to fade into the background.
While The Butler may star Forrest Whitaker, the television powerhouse has made sure the historical piece is her show.
In the first full length trailer released on Tuesday, it is clear that Oprah's character is a force to be reckoned with.

She's back: After almost 15 years Oprah Winfrey is back on the big screen in new film The Butler
The host quickly goes from loving wife to a fierce protector in the new film, which follows Forest's character Cecil Gaines as he serves as White House butler to eight presidents over three decades.
Winfrey plays his wife and is seen tenderly kissing her husband as he tries to stay apolitical despite the world exploding with racial tensions around him.
But just because she has a softer side, do not expect Oprah's character to be a push over.

As Gloria's son goes from freedom fight to Black Panther and question's his father's integrity as he is serving President Richard Nixon, played by John Cusack, the ferocious side is revealed.
'Everything you are and everything you have is because of that butler!' Oprah says, schooling her son.

Oprah manages to ensure she is the star despite a brilliant all star cast that also features James Marsden as John F. Kennedy and Minka Kelly as Jackie Kennedy, while lan Rickman steps in to Ronald Reagan's shoes and Jane Fonda as Nancy Reagan.
Also getting presidential is Liev Schreiber as Lyndon B. Johnson and an aged Robin Williams as Dwight Eisenhower.
Orlando Eric Street has the particularly difficult role of playing the still in office Barack Obama, while Nelsan Ellis stars as Martin Luther King Jr.

The film - which is out in October - also stars Terrence Howard as another butler and a man that Oprah's character has an affair with.
The Oscar winner caused controversy after he talked about Oprah's breasts in their love scene - which is not featured in the trailer.
In March during an interview with Movie Fanatic on his role in the Lee Daniels directed film, he said: 'To be able to make out with Oprah, to have love scenes with her and those tig ol’ bitties - she’s such a lovely and voluptuous woman.

While many people were outraged as Oprah is held in such high regard, the talk show host took it in her stride.
She told Steve Harvey: 'It was supposed to be a little scene, and because Terrence Howard misbehaved, it turned into a bigger scene and then a bigger scene.
'He’s a misbehaving kind of boy. I saw him on Twitter the other day talking about my breasteses.
'I wasn’t…you know what, some people called me saying they were all offended by it. I go, ‘Well, I do have big breasteses.'''
