Brace yourself! Courtney Love bares midriff in bizarre ensemble of baggy jeans held up by suspenders

She has developed an increasingly eccentric reputation in recent years and is currently estranged from her daughter Frances Bean Cobain.

And it appears Courtney Love's fashion sense has gone the same way.

The 48-year-old star stepped out in a white vest top which exposed her midriff and baggy jeans held up by braces during a stroll in New York City on Tuesday.

The rocker teamed her outfit with a pair of brown moccasins, sunglasses and an oversized pastel pink bag.

She looked in good spirits, holding a lit cigarette as she strolled alongside a mystery male friend, at one point, shouting in his ear.

The pair paid a visit to a guitars store on trendy Bleecker Street in the trendy West Village.

Courtney recently reconnected with her rock star roots when she was spotted at the Coachella festival in California.

However, instead of performing, she spent much of her day promoting a new electronic cigarette line.

Frances Cobain's estrangement from Courtney began at 17-years-old, when she she got a restraining order against her mother and went to live with other family members.

It was later revealed in legal documents that the order was granted due to domestic violence claims against Love by her daughter

However, the 20-year-old has been taking charge of her life recently, buying a new $1.8m Hollywood Hills home and getting engaged to rocker Isaiah Silva .

In August 2010 she became a millionaire overnight when she inherited a trust fund set up in her name following her father's death back in 1994.

She is probably the least deserving person out there to have 'celebrity' status. She used Kurt Cobain's fame and tragic death to promote herself - vile.

The dark glasses certainly " improved" the look. Kind of. There is no excuse for the moccasins, though.
