Sometimes all it takes to make an outfit is a great pair of shoes.

And Hilary Duff certainly let hers do the talking as she brightened up an all-black ensemble with a pair of eye-catching yellow studded ballet pumps on Wednesday.

Matching the shoes to her lemon nails, Hilary was spotted carrying her son Luca around Beverly Hills, California.

The 25-year-old actress donned a black blouse and black skintight leggings for her stroll with her baby boy.

Hilary's ombre locks were loosely pulled back in a ponytail and her eyes were concealed with aviator sunglasses - her signature style shade.

Ready for a busy day, the former Disney star came prepared with an orange panther-print tote that appeared full as it rested on her right shoulder.

Luca contrasted with his mother, sporting a heather grey top, red trousers, and white converse sneakers.

The blonde 13-month-old just got his first haircut on Tuesday at Tippery salon in Beverly Hills.

Hilary seemed to be in a celebratory mood, because she later proudly tweeted about a home-cooked meal.

She even included a picture of the vibrant gourmet dish.

The day before, she had filmed The Rachael Ray Show, so she could have picked up a trick or two from the celebrity chef.

But that's not her only TV appearance this week.

'Guess what?! I'm gonna be on the season finale of #TwoAndAHalfMen tomm! Thursday @ 8:31pm ET/PT on CBS! Don't be a minute late ;),' she tweeted on Wednesday.

Hilary will be playing a 22-year-old called Stacey, who enjoys a series of dates with Walden (Ashton Kutcher).
