She may have slipped into a glamorous slinky leopard print dress to attend the Met Ball on Monday night.

But you can't take 'Jenny From The Block' out of Jennifer Lopez.

The 43-year-old slipped back into her Bronx alter ego to release her new single with PitBull, Live It Up, worldwide on radio on Wednesday.

Jenny From The Block is back: Jennifer Lopez wore leather trousers and high-top sneakers to make an appearance on the Elvis Duran Z100 Morning Show on Wednesday to release her new single 

The singer paraded her curves in leather trousers teamed with a pair of shiny black high-tops as she appeared on Elvis Duran Z100 Morning Show in New York.

She also accessorised with a pair of her obligatory tinted sunglasses for good measure.

J-Lo did however cover up her perennially bronzed torso in a black turtleneck and wrap around suede top, which featured a long asymmetrical cut.

Jennifer was appearing on the show to debut her new single with rapper Pitbull.

Through rose-coloured glasses: She also accessorised with a pair of her obligatory tinted sunglasses for good measure

The dance pop song is set to become a club anthem hit, especially in the stadium-style venues in Miami.

Produced by RedOne, the song is reminiscent of J-Lo's other hits including 'On the Floor' and 'Dance Again.'

It features some cheesy one liners from both PitBull and J-Lo, including 'She’s screaming ‘YOLO!’ and 'Jenny from the Block, let’s rock.'

It also includes some colourful language from the rapper, who whispers 'Let’s f*** tonight' in the tune.

During her interview on the Elvis Duran show, Jennifer said that even though she has heard the new song several times before, listening to it live on radio for the first time was special. 

'I don't know it's just because you grew up listening to the radio and you hear songs and it's just one of those magical things,' she explained to Duran.

'I mean it's something you never even thought would happen one time and to be here making your tenth album and listening to your first single, it's like a dream come true.

Jennifer also described going back to her old Bronx neighbourhood for a recent photo shoot with high fashion magazine W.

'They put me in this big coat and these diamonds and I am standing there looking at this house I grew up in, you know that I spent 16 years in... and I just feel so grateful and I just don't know how everything happened,' she gushed.

Jennifer's new single is part of her tenth album which she has made along with 28 films in her long and successful career.

The singer also didn't hesitate to mention that she has also produced two children, twins Max and Emme, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.

' I did it all at once...efficiently,' she said.

Duran also questioned Jennifer about rumours that she may be returning as judge on American Idol, but the star stayed mum on the subject.

'I don't know. I have no announcement to make right now. I have nothing to say about that... except that I love the show. I love everyone over there. I love those guys. Steven (Tyler), Ryan (Seacrest), Randy (Jackson),' she said.

She also stayed silent on the subject of a recent shooting nearby the Florida set where she was filming the music video for her new song with Pitbull.

Over the weekend, J.Lo was rushed to safety after gunshots were fired near where she was filming the video.

Security guards took the singer to a vehicle after hearing several gunshots about 400 yards from where she was filming on Sunday night in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Police converged on the area, but the people involved in the shooting were not found, although police detained several people at the scene.

She was filming an interview with Entertainment Tonight on the set of the music video when the shots were heard.

ET's Rob Marciano, who was interviewing the star, reported that 'Security scrambled [Lopez] away' after the shots rang out.

He tweeted: 'BREAKING: Gunshots fired on Fort Lauderdale Beach DURING my JLo interview. No kidding. Security scrambled her away.'

He added: 'Can hear & see ambulances converging ~400 yards down the street.'

Before adding: 'Police confirming: 'shots fired. no one hit.' Whew.'

Security officials said the star was secure in her vehicle when the incident was reported, but it's bound to have brought back memories from the time she and then boyfriend P.Diddy were arrested over a shooting at a nightclub in New York in the late '90s.
