That was a busy trip! Fresh faced Kylie Minogue heads for the airport after star turn at Met Gala and visit to Jay-Z's Roc Nation

Since she arrived in America last week, Kylie Minogue has been awarded, preened and recorded.

But, ever the trooper, she showed no sign of fatigue as she headed to the airport ready to fly home to Britain on Wednesday night.

The 44-year old Australian looked fresh faced as she arrived at JFK dressed casually and wearing very little make-up.

She had rolled up a pair of loose fitting boyfriend style jeans to show off a pair of two-tone sandals, which themselves revealed a peek of Kylie's painted toenails.

A black T-shirt was the perfect comfy item for a transatlantic flight, and a khaki jacket over the top protected the diminutive star from any nasty chills.

She brightened up her otherwise boring outfit with a bright red bag that was no doubt filled with all the essentials she needed for the six hour flight.

The casual look was a million miles away from the gorgeous figure she cut at the Met Ball just days before.

Wearing a Burberry couture gown with large bow at the back, she had posed for photos with Cara Delvingne, who was also dressed by the British heritage label.

Kylie also made sure to visit the RocNation offices, Jay-Z's record label which signed her in February.

She tweeted a picture of herself posing by a window on the thirty-ninth floor and taking in the amazing views of the Big Apple, which rolled out behind her like an urban countryside.

She told Rolling Stone that she thought the move to the label - who counts Rita Ora and Calvin Harris on its roster - was a good move for her.

'I need to know what it is to do something different – different style of delivery, different beats, different subject matter.

'I think that I am a natural chameleon, so that floats my boat. I will maintain the DNA of what a Kylie track is, just because I'm on it.

'I like to try move the goalpost and experiment with different sounds. I can't tell you exactly what it is. I couldn't really describe it yet. But I can tell you I'm having a lot of fun in the process.'

But it wasn't all glamour and singing, Kylie also had a humbling moment last Thursday when she was honoured with a courage award at a benefit gala for women's cancer in Beverly Hills.

Speaking to Rolling Stone she said: 'It's so weighty that my initial response was I didn't know if I [deserve] this, because frankly you don't tend to think of yourself as being courageous when there are countless people who are more courageous each and every day than I'll ever be in my life.'

Home sweet home: Australian born singer Kylie has been based in the UK for decades

Kylie landed in Heathrow wearing a huge grin, and a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses to hide any signs of puffiness or bags beneath her eyes.

As soon as she landed, she tweeted: 'Hello London!!!! #itsbeentoolong', which hints that she might have had a phone charger in her huge hand luggage.

She seemed pleased to be back on British shores, and she looked as radiant as when she left America a few hours prior.

She's not very intelligent, is she? She had cancer, and she had toxic treatment for it. Yet she pumps toxins into her body constantly to avoid a few natural lines. I have no respect for someone who disrespects their body so much.

Kylie OWNED the red carpet at the Met Gala. Good to see the UNDISPUTED QUEEN OF POP is working hard to further her reign over all those PRETENDERS to her throne and OLD HAS BEENS like Madonna who never did manage to keep up with her. Way to go Kylie - we await your TRIUMPHANT RETURN to the TOP OF THE CHARTS!
