Her hair styles are probably the most requested in hair salons across the world and none was more popular than 'The Rachel'.

But Jennifer Aniston's longtime friend and creator of the infamous cut recently admitted that he was stoned when he created the look.

Salon owner Chris McMillan revealed the news at an event for Aniston's new hair care range Living Proof.

'I'm 14 years sober,' he said. 'So I feel safe enough to say that.'

He gave her the cut in 1994 when the actress was playing Rachel Greene in the hit show Friends.

Since becoming involved with Living Proof, Aniston has brought McMillan on board.

The company kicked off a contest on Thursday that will award a grand prize of hanging out with Aniston and McMillan for a day, to be capped with a McMillan haircut.

The Bad Bosses actress actually admitted in an interview with Allure in 2011 that she hated 'The Rachel' haircut.

'Let's say there have been moments I'd rather not re-live, like that whole Rachel thing. I love Chris, and he's the bane of my existence at the same time because he started that damn Rachel, which was not my best look.

'How do I say this? I think it was the ugliest haircut I've ever seen.'

The 44-year-old was spotted in New York last night where she attended Bette Midler's play I'll Eat You Last on Broadway.

Despite claiming recently that she has 'wavy, frizzy hair', her silky blonde locks were styled straight, flowing past her shoulders.

To go with her relaxed look, the We're The Millers star donned a fitted blue tank with a coordinating knit sweater and sheer, loose-fitted trousers.

Around her neck, she sported a delicate gold Hamsa necklace, acting as a sign of protection against all evils, meshing well with her yogi lifestyle.

The blonde beauty accompanied the short chain with a longer, multicolored pendant necklace.

She's never looked as good since.

She looks so unhappy in all her pictures. Perhaps fame and money aren't all they are cracked up to be.

She looked lovely still, though. And I liked the cut, maybe I'm out of it then.. She looks SO much like Barbra Streisand now, it's uncanny. Beautiful women both.

I loved The Rachel cut! Now, Jen has had the same haircut for over a decade. She should try something new.

WhatEVER, I expect Aniston was high, too. The haircut, more than her talent, made her famous. She needs to thank the guy.

She hated the haircut but really ought to be grateful for it, since it brought her more media attention than her more-talented "Friends' co-stars ever got.
