Her own little tour guide! January Jones lets son Xander lead the way on a walk in the sunshine

She has mastered the art of being a single mother.

And on Saturday, as January Jones' 20-month-old son Xander showed he is growing up fast as he played tour guide for his mother and aunt around the streets of West Hollywood.

The little one took charge of the outing, walking ahead of 35-year-old January and his aunt, excitedly pointing out the scenery.

The Mad Men star dressed casually for the neighbourhood stroll and allowed her blonde tresses to flow naturally above her shoulders.

January opted for a loose fitting striped shirt over blue jeans and slipped on a pair of casual sandals.

Dark sunglasses framed the porcelain skinned beauty's make-up free face.

The actress dressed little Xander in a white t-shirt and navy blue shorts, as well as comfortable sandals.

January's sister joined the pair for the walk, and she took charge of the X-Men: First Class' adorable poodle mix.

Also a gorgeous blonde, she opted for a much brighter outfit, teaming bright red skinny jeans with a denim shirt and red sunglasses.

Xander looked to be full of energy during the outing, and quite literally lead the way.

The youngster sported a giant smile as he lead his mother by the hand down the sidewalk, clearly excited to be out and about.

At one point as the pooch stopped to check out the shrubbery, Xander simply marched on ahead.

The little one began pointing things out left, right and centre, and appears to be developing independent go-getter skills early.

But of course, there's only so much tour-guiding a one-year-old can do before he gets tired and needs to retire to his mothers arms, which Xander eventually did.

January has enjoyed huge success playing Betty Draper Francis on AMC's hit series Mad Men, and recently returned from New York on a promotional stint for the show.

The actress can be seen on the big screen in the upcoming western Sweetwater with Ed Harris and Jason Isaacs, in which she portrays a newlywed who takes revenge against an evil community preacher played by Isaacs.
