The Department of Chemistry offers programs leading to the Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The department's educational and research programs span the breadth of chemistry. General areas covered include biological chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical and theoretical chemistry, the chemistry of polymers and materials, nanoscience, environmental chemistry, and neurochemistry. Our undergraduate and graduate students find stimulation in discovery and innovation, and original research is an important component of the department's academic program at all levels.
