A two week Broads adventure begins on Saturday

Over two weeks of non stop adventure started on Saturday May 4th with the third Broads Outdoors Festival, showcasing all that the Broads has to offer.

Salhouse Broad Restoration Work nominated for national award

Work to restore an eroded reed bed and spit of land at Salhouse Broad using dredgings from the nearby river has been selected as a finalist for a prestigious national award.

Planner and angler appointed to the Broads Authority

Two new members have been appointed by the Environment Secretary, Owen Patterson, to provide the national voice on the Broads Authority which has strategic responsibility for conservation, recreation, navigation, planning, and access in the Broads


Focus On

aclenew  Acle Parish Council has made an application to Broadland District Council and the Broads Authority to designate a Neighbourhood Area, for the purposes of  developing a Neighbourhood Plan.

The Norfolk and Suffolk Broads is Britain's largest protected wetland and third largest inland waterway, with the status of a national park. It's also home to some of the rarest plants and animals in the UK. The Broads Authority was set up in 1989, with responsibility for conservation, planning, recreation and waterways.
