Big day out: Heidi Klum goes from sports field to beach side with daughter Leni and boyfriend Martin Kristen

Watching her boys play soccer is a Saturday tradition for Heidi Klum, but this week the model got to be dance mom too.

The mother of four took time out from soccer mum duties to lead her daughter Leni - who just turned nine last week - and her cheerleading friends around the playing field in Brentwood, California, before heading off to the beach in Santa Monica for some more fun.

It was certainly a busy day for the mother of four but thanks to a helping hand from boyfriend Martin Kristen, the model made it look effortless.

Heidi started off the day at her sons' football game but got in some serious girl time while there.

The four young girls and the model held hands and walked around in a long chain.

Smiling and giggling Heidi was clearly enjoying getting some girl time in with her daughter.

The nine-year-old and her friends dressed almost identically donning purple bike pants - Leni wore longer pink ones, multi-coloured RaRa skirts and green sequined tops.

Clearly the girls were preparing to show off their dance moves as cheerleaders for Leni's brothers.

Heidi as always showed why she is one of the world's most well known supermodel.

Heidi wore little make-up but donned large aviator shades and left her golden hair to fall loosely around her face.

But is was not all about the girls, later the Project Runway host caught up with her sons, Johan and Henry, after they finished their soccer game.

As if the family had not had enough activity for one day, just a few hours later they hit the beach at Santa Monica for a bicycle ride with some friends from soccer.

Heidi's boyfriend Martin Kristen joined in the bike fun along with Heidi's youngest Lou.

Proving he has definitely transitioned from bodyguard to a critical member of the Klum tribe, a fanny pack-wearing Martin dropped his tough man look and rode a women's pink bike dragging three-year-old Lou and a play mate in a carriage.

While Martin did the heavy lifting Heidi and her brightly dressed friend herded the children up the front.

Adding a zip up jumper for warmth, the German beauty also tied her hair messily back. She then later added a pair of black and white American flag patterned jeans.

Then with the children still full of energy the group headed to Venice's famous Muscle Beach where the children made the most of the exercise equipment.

Heidi did manage to grab some time for herself.

The model shared a beach side snuggle with her muscle bound beau before grabbing an ice cream.

Heidi told Us Weekly that it can tough to juggle their schedules.

She said: 'It's a huge responsibility to have four kids.

'They all have different likes and dislikes and activities that they want to do. You have to learn how to juggle all of that, and at the same time, give them each the love that they need.

'When you have one [child], you can focus on one. With four, you have to make sure [your attention] is all spread out just right,.

'You have to understand how different they all are! And at the end of the day, there is not much time left for you!'
