Looks like Selma Blair found a great way to beat the 83-degree heat on Mother's Day.

The Grammy-nominated star, who turns 41 next month, celebrated her special day by splashing around a Malibu beach with her son Arthur Saint Bleick.

The raven-haired beauty was joined on the sand by a blonde gal pal, who was also seen clutching the smiling boy, who turns two in July.

Selma wore a pink-striped bikini under a white sheer camisole and tiny white shorts for her fun in the sun.

But the Cruel Intentions actress later swapped the camisole for a sleeveless lavender T-shirt to play with her tyke in the ocean.

Blair ditched Arthur's diaper so he could freely experience the warm waters wearing only a blue T-shirt and a white fisher hat emblazoned with a whale.

The Legally Blonde funnywoman also enjoyed a dip in the ocean herself where she reportedly had fun surprising her son by emerging from underneath the surface.

On Thursday, the mother-son duo spent three hours observing animals in their enclosures at the Los Angeles Zoo.

The single mother split with Arthur's father Jason Bleick in August.

Prior to Bleick, Selma was linked to funnyman Jason Schwartzman, Kath & Kim costar Mikey Day, singer Josh Groban, and she was married to Ahmet Zappa for two years.

Blair stars with Charlie Sheen in the second season of Anger Management, which currently airs Thursday nights on FX.

If these photos are pixilated to cover up the little one's privacy - would it not have been nicer to have just let them actually HAVE some privacy and not stalked them and published these pictures?

Arthur is one of the cutest little boys out there. I love the fact that Selma has never moaned/complained how hard it is as a single parent etc she just says that she has to get on with life and make sure her son is loved and well cared for.
