Rita Ora has been tipped to replace Georgia May Jagger as the face of Madonna's Material Girl clothing line.

The 22-year-old starlet, who is said to have signed a $760,000 deal, has apparently already shot a campaign for the teen-led line which is sold at Macy's.

She is believed to have been recommended by Madonna's daughter Lourdes, 16, who co-designs the collection with her mother.

A source told The Sun : 'Lourdes has been a fan of Rita for a while and has been to many of her gigs. She persuaded her mum to see her.

'They met at the Met Ball in New York last week and Madonna admired Rita's attitude so signed the idea off.'

They added that London-born Rita, who is currently dating Calvin Harris, was thrilled to be offered the opportunity and is hoping it will help get her music more exposure in the U.S.

'Rita jumped at the chance because she's such a fan of the Queen of Pop,' the source continued.

'She also hopes it will help her crack the States in the same way she has the UK.'

If today's reports are correct, the singer would be following in the footsteps of Taylor Momsen and Kelly Osbourne as the face of Material Girl.

Of course Rita is no stranger to the fashion world: signed to Next models, she replaced Alexa Chung as the face of footwear brand Superga and regularly sits front row at fashion week.

A representative for Material Girl is yet to reply to a request for comment.

rita looks horrible without her make up. I wish Lourdes would do something about her long upwards lashes and trim them. they look so off key and shes not even embarrassed

There seems to be so much money being pumped into attempting to make this small time climber a 'star'... look at her worldwide chart positions, the only place she has had hits is the UK... everywhere else she bombed (That 'RIP' nonsense only managed #103 in the States and then they cancelled the album release.)... Yet still she is getting work she really doesn't deserve.
