In this episode, Pierre Donais welcomes Raymond Gravel, a former Bloc Quebecois MP and Catholic priest.
Reverend Raymond Gravel is a Catholic priest who was involved in federal politics. He was the Bloc Quebecois MP for the Quebec riding of Repentigny from 2006 to 2008.
Gravel was the first Quebec priest to be elected to the House of Commons; however, he is the third sovereigntist priest to hold elected office, the other two being Reverends Jacques Couture and Louis O’Neil, who were elected to the Quebec National Assembly in 1976. He is a controversial figure because of his support for same-sex marriage and abortion, two issues the Catholic Church opposes.
