In the running: E. W. Jackson beat out six other candidates on Saturday to win the No. 2 spot on the Republican ticket
Virginia's Republican nominee for lieutenant governor has compared the Democratic Party to a 'slave market' and says Planned Parenthood is more of a threat to black Americans than the Klu Klux Klan.
The caustic statements by E.W. Jackson, a black minister from Chesapeake, have come under increased scrutiny after he beat out six other candidates on Saturday to win the No. 2 spot on the Republican ticket behind Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.
Cuccinelli faces Democrat Terry McAuliffe in November's gubernatorial election. Democrats will choose Jackson's opponent on June 11.
In a 'message to black Christians' posted on YouTube last year, Jackson says, 'It is time to end the slavish devotion to the Democrat Party.'
'The Democrat Party has created an
unholy alliance between certain so-called civil rights leaders and
Planned Parenthood, which has killed unborn black babies by the tens of
millions,' he says.
'Planned Parenthood has been far more lethal to black lives than the KKK ever was,' he continues. 'And the Democratic Party and their black civil rights allies are partners in this genocide.'
Controversial: E.W. Jackson, Virginia's Republican nominee for lieutenant governor, has compared the Democratic Party to a 'slave market' and says Planned Parenthood is more of a threat to black Americans than the Klu Klux Klan
The competition for second-in-command is especially important because if Jackson loses, Democrats will pick up majority control of the state Senate.
Jackson has never held public office.
His first political campaign was last year, when he ran in a Republican
primary for U.S. Senate and got less than 5 percent of the vote.
Also in the YouTubevideo, Jackson condemns Democrats for 'equat[ing] homosexuality with being black.'
He says that discrimination against both groups cannot be lumped together under the same civil rights umbrella.
'They can keep their homosexuality private,' he says. 'You and I cannot hide being black.'
Jackson has made a number of anti-gay statements in the past, comparing homosexuals to pedophiles and calling them 'frankly very sick people psychologically, mentally and emotionally.'

According to his past statements, he believes that gay individuals attempt to 'poison' children and 'turn them into pawns for that movements so they can sexualize them at the earliest possible age.'
Cuccinelli has also expressed anti-gay sentiments in the past.
'My view is that homosexual acts, not homosexuality, but homosexual acts are wrong,' he told the Virginian-Pilot in 2009. 'They’re intrinsically wrong. And I think in a natural law based country it’s appropriate to have policies that reflect that.'

He is an uneducated buffoon who is spewing lies about an entire group of people. You can say what he says is protected under freedom of speech but so is the right to criticize the stupid comments he makes. Having grown up there, I know many Virginians who are embarrassed by him. - KeriTail, Omaha, 21/5/2013 5:51----------###-------How narrow minded. Because you do not agree, you say he is uneducated. In fact, EW Jackson has a Harvard education. He also holds a Law degree, (look it up) I would say that he is more educated than most of the people on this forum. Sometimes it is best to think before you write.
