There are few things more romantic than a box of chocolates.
So it seems Will Ferrell was trying to woo his on-screen lover Christina Applegate as they filmed scenes for Anchorman: The Legend Continues in New York on Monday,
The funnyman looked like a man on a mission as he marched down a street with a container of treats under his arm as he prepared to meet up with the blonde, who plays newsreader Veronica Cornerstone.

Forrest Gump would approve: Will Ferrell brought Christina Applegate a box of chocolates on the set of Anchorman 2 in New York on Monday
Will, who plays the movie's titular news anchorman Ron Burgundy, looked like he was dressing to impress in a leather jacket, grey suit and purple shirt.
Christina, 41, meanwhile wore a simple violet dress as she left what seems to be her character's apartment building as they ventured out on a date.
But while filming is continuing apace on the hotly anticipated sequel, a teaser trailer has just been released to excite the fans.
Looking sharp: It appeared Ron Burgundy was pulling out all the stops as he romanced Veronica Cornerstone
The boys are back in town: Ron and his Channel 4 cohorts feature in a new teaser trailer that has just been released
Sweet Lincoln?s mullet! Ron Burgundy and his perfectly coifed crew are back after nine long years. Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner appear as their beloved characters in a new teaser for the highly anticipated ?Anchorman? sequel, ?Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.? By the looks of the minute-long, the San Diego Channel 4 news team have kept it classy after all this time ? perhaps with the exception of Rudd?s Brian Fantana, who announces his switch from Sex Panther cologne to one that?s literally 100 percent snake venom. Paramount will be releasing several more teasers ahead of the December 20 release. We remain in a glass case of emotion until then.
The hilariously over the top clip shows the members of the Channel 4 News Team together once again.
A voice over reader with a typically rich baritone says: 'Jesus. MacArthur. Jay-Z.
'The great ones always return, and when they do, one thing is for sure: their hair will be perfect.'
Will then says: 'We haven't seen you in a while, America. You haven't changed a bit.'
His old ohorts are of course alongside him; Paul Rudd as Brian Fantana, Steve Carell as Brick Tamland, and David Koechner as Champ Kind.
Double act: Comedy maestros Will Ferrell and Steve Carell are always exciting to watch together
The other two: Fans of the first film will also be excited David Koechner and Paul Rudd are reprising their roles
Mugs: Ron was the only member of his team smart enough to bring a refreshment along to filming

it's not gonna be as funny as the original, it took them a decade to do a sequel, which loses the whole point of a sequel. If there was gonna be different characters it should be re-invented... like what they did to "something 40, kind of a sequel from knocked up".... I won't pay money to go to the cinema to see this, i might just stream somewhere off the internet.... who's with me?
