Holey denim! Sienna Miller lets her knees hang out as she wears a pair of very badly torn jeans

As a fashion designer herself, one would expect Sienna Miller to customize her own clothing from time to time.

But, her latest outfit left something to be desired as she stepped out looking a little scruffy in ripped jeans.

The 31-year-old was seen out shopping in the West Village, New York City, on Tuesday afternoon showing off her knees in the badly torn denim.

While many jeans often have a stylish tear or two along the leg, Sienna's looked like they had been deliberately cut open.

The Factory Girl actress clearly didn't think the jeans looked too bad as she rolled up the hem and teamed them with a pair of blue heels.

She also tried to style them out by tying what appeared to be a neck scarf around her hips instead of a proper belt.

The mother-of-one lapped up the sunshine in a sleeveless white blouse and accessorised with her designer Miu Miu handbag and a pair of sunglasses from Karen Walker Eyewear.

Sienna failed to pick up any awards for her craft when she attended the Arqiva British Academy Television Awards, earlier this month.

However, the established star has plenty of films out later this year which she will be hoping can win her another best actress nomination.

She recently completed filming comedy drama Hippie Hippie Shake, which co-stars Chris O'Dowd, Cillian Murphy and Hugh Bonneville.

Sienna will also be seen gracing the big screen in the highly anticipated drama Foxcatcher alongside good friend Channing Tatum, Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo.

Foxcatcher tells the story of Olympic Wrestling Champion Mark Schultz and how paranoid schizophrenic John duPont, played by Carell, killed his brother, Olympic Champion Dave Schultz.

Not sure why Sienna gets all this attention and praise. Besides dating Jude Law, she hasn't really done much in her life has she? She's not a great actress, not very original in the way she dresses....pfff...It must be simply because she comes from a very wealthy background. - Tz, scotland, ____________________ I don't either. I like her clothes but with the money she spends I could dress great as well. She seems to wear an entire forest of dead animals on her back so you'd think she'd annoy the animal rights crowd but she doesn't seem to. She's been mediocre at best in every movie she's been in. Despite her "hippy" vibe she loves money so much she famously was so into rich, married men. She even had the nickname "serial Miller" from the press for her affairs ( Balthazar Getty being the last). She's beautiful but that's it. Though I suppose the Kardashians aren't even pretty and they are famous as well.

Cheap jeans and amateur roughing. I could find better in a clothes bank ready done.

I like Sienna, but I have to agree about her style. She became famous for the whole boho thing, but she basically lifted the entire wardrobe she wore on Alfie. She obviously isn't a vintage shopper as she just couldn't keep it up and then turned to her wardrobe department on Factory Girl. She's gorgeous, but she doesn't seem to really know who she is and becomes the person she is dating. Now she's with a bit of a scruff who seems to have a thing for the 80s, out come the Bros jeans and the Dunlop Green Flash...doesn't suit her. Not impressed.
