Paris Hilton's boyfriend model River Viiperi aggressively pushed a female fan on Monday night when the couple were at the Cannes Film Festival, it has been reported.

A video first obtained by TMZ shows Paris and River fighting through scenes of 'utter mayhem' as a smiling female fan approaches Paris.

The brunette fan is seen pestering Paris for a quick photo, despite River trying his best to dissuade the lady from standing in their way.

Brute force: River finally shoves the female fan with great force as she is pushed far away from Paris

But River is then seen pushing the female fan with great force, after she failed to attract the attention of the 32-year-old heiress, and is shoved out of the way.

As she is pushed out of the way gasps from the crowd can be heard, clearly shocked at River's aggressive behaviour towards a young female fan.

However, the same fan is then seen approaching Paris yet again as they make a dash for it.

Calm before the storm: Paris and River pictured here a day before the incident looking calm and collected as they attend a party in Cannes

At one point, River turns to the same fan and orders her to 'stop touching' them, as she smiles and waits patiently for a photo.

The couple are also approached by a rogue security guard who tried to get in on protecting the pair, but Paris turns to him and remarks: 'I really don't need you.'

She is also overheard complaining that fans and photographers keep stepping on her black floor-length gown.

Posing for the pictures: Paris was in Cannes to celebrate her anniversary with her Spanish model boyfriend River and promote a cameo appearance in the film The Bling Ring

Happy: Paris and River Viiperi were all smiles a few days before when they attended the Seduced and Abandoned premiere and after party at the Lady Joy Yacht

The couple had earlier been seen at the weekend looking smart as they arrived at Nikki Beach, a Cannes night club.

Before that however, Paris and River had been caught by photographers at the Gotha Club, also in Cannes, raising eyebrows as they locked lips in front of guests.

And obviously the trappings of Paris' high-profile fame have been proving too much for River who appears to snap in this video.

Although Paris had no film of her own to promote, aside from her cameo in Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring, the star had parties at Cannes with her boyfriend to celebrate their one year anniversary.

The pair have even sparked engagement rumours after he referred to her as his 'future wife'

But perhaps Paris could have second thoughts are reviewing this video footage.

In all fairness, that girl was rude and invasive, you wouldn't do this to a normal person, so why would you do it to others?

if you watch the video, the girl is really annoying and was bascially almost stalking her and stepping on the back of her dress. Paris is a twit but the girl was acting like an idiot.. there were crowd barriers but obviously the girl wasnt going to stand behind them hence why she was pushed out of the way... a nothing story really DM

In my opinion he didn't do anything wrong! If somebody was pestering my girlfriend with loads of commotion going on anyway, I would push her away too!

While I think physically shoving a girl like that was a bit too heavy handed, and I don't want to be sticking up for Paris, perhaps that girl had been pestering them all night ad she was acting rediculous and even, a bit creepy. No means no, cut your losses and leave people alone. IIf a man as big as River had pushed me like that, I would be kicking off and complaining to security, not going back with a huge creep smile trying to get "selfies" with Paris, who looked more annoyed with all that attention than I have ever seen her. Plus, it's not 2005 anymore. I wuldnt be intestested in getting a picture with Paris, even if she asked me for one herself. Shes irrelevant.

I think she was bothered by the security guard touching her, not the woman.
