Up to no good: Rapper Chief Keef was arrested for illegal drug activity on Monday
Chief Keef has been released from jail after being arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Police in suburban Atlanta took the 17-year-old rapper, whose name is Keith Cozart, into custody for reportedly smoking drugs.
Dunwoody police spokesman Timothy Fecht says officers arrested him after responding to a call about illegal drug activity at the Le Méridien hotel just north of Atlanta on Monday afternoon.
Fecht says officers saw smoke and smelled marijuana wafting from a room.
It wasn't immediately clear what Keith was doing in the state of Georgia. Representatives at his booking agency said they didn't have contact info for an attorney of the teenage musician.
They also claimed they didn't know much about the incident concerning the Chicago native.
Upon leaving his cell, the youngster tweeted his more than half a million fan online to let them know about his freedom.
‘Jus Got Out Of Dekalb County jail In Atlanta Mad As f**k,’ he wrote.
He has also shared screen grabs of reports on his arrest via his Instagram page, seemingly proud of his mug shot card which details his height and weight.
The hip hop personality seemed to go straight back into daddy mode that day.
He went on to post snaps of his daughter Jasmine after joining herat a kids’ play area, captioning the image ‘#Baddie’.
In January he was sued for child support after fathering a baby with a girl who is still in middle school.
He impregnated the female in 2011 when he was 15.
Under Illinois state law, it is illegal for two people under 17 to have sex, regardless of whether the relationship is consensual.
If both people are between 9 and 17, whichever is older can be charged with criminal sexual abuse. If found guilty, they can be sentenced to up to one year in jail and required to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
Keef, who has worked with rappers such as Kanye West, Young Jeezy, and Rick Ross, is no stranger to legal troubles.
Chief Keef was arrested in January and spent about two months in juvenile detention for violating probation on a weapons conviction. He had received probation for pointing a gun at police in 2012.
