Atletico Madrid star striker Radamel Falcao has faced some of the best this season, but none quite like 128 Singaporean children.

The Colombian hitman and his Atletico team-mates took part in a football clinic for local primary school children - and took all of them on in a match.

But the striker, whose Atletico side take on a Singapore select side on Tuesday, might not be at the club for long after it was revealed he is close to joining Monaco by the principality club's assistant manager.

Despite being a number one target for English clubs including the two Manchester clubs and Chelsea, Falcao looks set to join Monaco - who were promoted to Ligue 1 this season after winning the French second tier under former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri.

And Ranieri's assistant Jean Petit says Falcao, who has scored 29 La Liga goals this season, will be the first of a number of top players to join Monaco's assault on the top flight.

'We are expecting Falcao and four or five other players of his quality,' he told Radio RCN.

'We have spoken and we continue to speak with Falcao and his representatives, negotiations are ongoing. We hope to seal a deal as soon as possible.

'Monaco need a player like Falcao because he can help us a lot and because he can attract other top players, and that's the best way of confirming out project is big and interesting. Signing Falcao is a big coup on sporting and media levels for French football.

'As a footballer Falcao has everything. He has technique, good control of the ball and scores a lot of goals.

'We saw it here in Monaco in the [European] SuperCup final and we were impressed and surprised by his performance and clinical finishing. President [Dmitry] Rybolovlev likes Falcao a lot.'

If Monaco are ready to spend millions he may as well join as it'll be between them and PSG each season, same as every other league 2 dominant teams.

Is the big guy with the red cap pleased to see Falcao or maybe that is just phone on his pocket?

Right. So Falcao obviously is interested in money, not football.

Such a waste. The prem would have been even better with him here. Torres>Forlan>Aguero>Falcao>? Someone needs to go undercover to find out who's the next Atletico striker & put a bid in...

If Rafa was the type of manager, that Frank could 'sit and talk' with then I'm pretty sure that Chelsea wouldn't of had the success they had this season, as the egos of their team would of through that Rafa is 'soft' and therefore they can get him sacked like some of their old manager Terry and Frank didn't like.
