Jessica Biel has gone on strike - a toilet strike that is.

The actress has joined Matt Damon's tongue-in-cheek campaign for Water.org and has been joking that she is yet to use a bathroom.

The star was spotted taking her two pet dogs for a walk in New York on Thursday and the day before had declared her dedication to the cause on Twitter.

'Hey @Water I STILL haven't gone to the bathroom. What about you, @batemanjason ? #strikewithme http://strikewithme.org,' she tweeted to Jason Bateman, who has also joined the strike.

The campaign sees a host of Damon's famous friends pledging that they will not go to the bathroom until everyone in the world has access to clean water and sanitation.

'It's easy for me actually because I've never gone to the bathroom in my entire life,' Jessica jokes in a video to promote the cause. 'I also don't sweat or have body odour.'

Jason later tells her, 'It smells like a hummingbird singing in here,' to which the wife of Justin Timberlake replies, 'That's me!'

Matt Damon also appears in the clip and says, 'Join the millions of famous people who have already joined my strike. And remember, if you don't use the toilet, you're a celebrity.'

On Thursday Jessica went for a retro style in 80s inspired white Nike high tops to take her pooches on a springtime stroll.

The 31-year-old also showed off her toned legs in a pair of black pedal pusher leggings and topped off her outfit with a simple grey jumper that effectively kept her famously fit torso under wraps.

The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea star made sure to keep her accessories down to a minimum in horn-rimmed sunglasses and a Memphis snap back cap.

The two muscular pooches kept one step behind their mistress, who appeared in a great mood as she enjoyed the balmy spring weather.

Breaking the grey clouds, that cast a pall over the Big Apple earlier in the week, was a welcome burst of sunshine as Jessica strolled leisurely with her canine friends.

Meanwhile, the doting wife supported her husband on Monday night in Cannes as his new movie, Inside Llewyn Davis, premièred at the famed film festival.

The historical drama, which also stars Carey Mulligan, is set in the 1960s during the explosion of the New York folk scene.

Jessica also has films slated for release later this year, including Nailed and The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.

The newlywed star married longtime beau Justin in October in a lavish ceremony in Fasano, Italy.

She recently admitted that having ‘someone to go swimming naked with’ is one of her favourite perks of marriage.

She told Elle magazine: ‘It means always having someone there to open the pickle jar… to share the ups and downs with, have adventuures with.  Someone to go swimming naked with.  That kind of thing.’

I'm sorry I know a lot of ladies love Justin Timberlake but I believe that if I had a jar of pickles I couldn't open and had to ask either Justin or Jessica to open it, my money would be on Jess.

I know the intention is well meaning but I find this a bit patronizing. To connect your ability o use the bathroom and the lack of clean water for millions is insensitive. Particularly since those who are using humor to highlight this epidemic could solve the problem singlehandedly if they all donated 1% of their income.
