With her baggy jeans and unkempt wet hair, Dakota Fanning was having a dressed down day as she stepped out in New York on Thursday.
But there's nothing like a Chanel bag to add a touch of class to even the most casual outfit.
A covetable red quilted bag by the designer hung across The Runaways star's lithe frame.

With her hair parted in the centre and still wet from a shower, it was clear she and her friend were in for a no-fuss afternoon.

Stacked heel, strappy, studded sandals completed the ensemble while showing off a robin's egg blue pedicure.

Across the country in Los Angeles, Dakota's younger sister Elle also donned oversized denim.
On set for Low Down, the 15-year-old dressed in a costume of a loose red T-shirt with navy drawstring at the top and blue jeans.
The film is a look at the life of jazz pianist Joe Albany from the perspective of his young daughter, as she watched him contend with his drug addiction during the 1960s and '70s jazz scene.
The musical biopic reportedly started filming during the second week of May and will continue for the next month.
