Reese Witherspoon flashed her trademark smile on Friday while out shopping in Los Angeles in a casual, gym-ready black outfit.

The 37-year-old actress went for a morning shopping spree in the Brentwood area and appeared content as she carried her items in shopping bags back to her car.

Reese went with an all-black ensemble of black Nike leggings, a wide-necked black sweater and black sunglasses that she completed with a pair of fuchsia trainers.

The Walk The Line star had her blonde hair pulled back and chatted on the phone while in the parking lot.

It was recently reported that Reese will reunite with Joaquin Phoenix, her co-star in Walk The Line in a new project.

Reese and Joaquin will star in Paul Thomas Anderson's new crime drama Inherent Vice, according to Deadline.com.

Owen Wilson and Benecio del Toro are also said to be joining the cast of the movie, which is set in Los Angeles in the 1970s and follows a drug-fueled detective investigating the disappearance of an ex-girlfriend.

The movie buzz has been a welcome respite perhaps from the unflattering press Reese received following her arrest for disorderly conduct last month.

The pint-sized star was heard saying things such as, 'Do you know my name, sir?' to the Atlanta police officer who pulled over her husband Jim Toth under suspicion of driving under the influence on April 19.

The Election actress was in Atlanta filming her new movie The Good Lie, which saw Reese dye her blonde hair to a dark chocolate brown colour.

The film is based on a real life story of a young refugee of the Sudanese Civil War who wins a lottery for relocation to the U.S. with three other of the so-called Lost Boys.

The refugee, played by 27-year-old British Ugandan rapper and actor Arnold 'SnakeyMan' Oceng, develops an unlikely friendship with a brash American woman named Carrie, played by Reese, who has been assigned to help the refugees.

Maybe next time she will learn to handle her drink and not act like a fool. Everyone is entitled to make mistakes, only time will tell whether she can make personal improvements on her own character. - Coco , Earth, Germany, 25/5/2013 19:53 Well, after the arrest, she wore a fake police hat as a publicity stunt. Does that count in "improving"?
