In a flap: Actress Milla Jovovich appears a little distressed while left holding a large bird of prey

In the world of acting they always say never work with children or animals.
And actress Milla Jovovich may be wishing she paid more attention to this mantra as she got into a slight flap while handing a hawk in Cannes.
The 37-year-old Resident Evil star was spotted grappling with the large winged animal at the Martinez Hotel on Friday.
In a flap: Milla Jovovich was spotted struggling to train a hawk while in Cannes on Friday afternoon
The Ukranian beauty was spotted on the roof of the luxurious hotel looking reasonably calm as she waited, dressed in black.
Wearing a thick protective glove, the actress was seen stretching out her hand as she welcomed a large bird of prey to perch on her.
The initial calm look quickly changed as the bird began to flap it's wings around the model-turned-actress' face.
Here birdy birdy: The model and actress tried to temp a light feathered friend onto her arm
Not a fan? The Resident Evil star looked a bit alarmed as the bird of prey flapped it's wings violently
Under control: A trained bird handler was with the actress to help her out
She was soon leaning backwards in the commotion, clearly a little unnerved by the activity, as she tried to bring the animal under control.
As she continued to struggle with her new feathered friend, the accompanying team of wildlife experts who were on hand for the impromptu spot of training were quick to offer advice and instruction.
Between them they managed to get the beast under control and before long the actress was relieved of the critter.
The falcon and the falconer: The team of experts were giving Milla a bit of training for how to control the winged animals
Take two: Milla appeared to have better luck with a slightly larger, brown feathered bird
Stunning landing: The hawk gave a good performance as it came in to rest on Milla's hand
She had better luck with a second bird of prey which seemed much happier to land on Milla's outstretched arm.
The brown feathered animal gracefully sat on her hand, giving a gentle flap of it's wings.
The actress is currently in Cannes as a guest of L'Oreal for the 2013 Film Festival.
Bird training style: The actress wore a black blazer as part of her bird training outfit
More like it: Milla was at her glamorous best the previous evening when attending the amfAR's 20th Annual Cinema Against AIDS fundraiser
Model behavior: Milla enjoyed hanging out with fellow beauties Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls, and Toni Garrn
The previous night she had attended the AmfAR's 20th Annual Cinema Against AIDS Gala in the company of other glamourous models and actresses.
Much more the kind of birds-of-a-feather that you may assume a Hollywood actress to associate with, Milla enjoyed the evening with fellow models Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls, and Toni Garrn.
Sharon Stone was also in attendance, leading the glamour pack in a backless white Cavalli gown with a gold snake detail running down her back.

Independent women: Liberty Ross (left) and Heidi Klum (right) both lit up the red carpet at the charity event
Pop star Kylie also shone in white, attending the money-raising benefit in a cleavage sporting Roberto Cavalli number.
Meanwhile, model Liberty Ross - who is currently divorcing Rupert Sanders after he cheated on her with Snow White & The Huntsman star, Kirsten Stewart - looked the business in a beautiful blue Balmain quilted top.
And style and modelling queen Heidi Klum stepped out in a gold tinted outfit.
