Bale will hold talks with Spurs before transfer window opens to decide his future

Footballer of the Year Gareth Bale will hold talks with Tottenham before the summer transfer window opens to discuss his future amid growing interest from Real Madrid in the 60million Welshman.

Both Bale and Spurs are keen to avoid the tense stand-off that marred relations between Luka Modric and the club two summers ago. White Hart Lane chairman Daniel Levy blocked Modric’s move to Chelsea on that occasion but sold him to Real the following summer.

Bale is keen to explore his options as Europe’s hottest property, particularly as Spurs missed out on qualifying for the Champions League on the final day of the season.

Real legend Zinedine Zidane, who now works as an ambassador for the Spanish giants, described Bale on Friday as the third best player in the world behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and ‘more than good enough’ to grace the Bernabeu.

Manchester City and Manchester United would also love Bale to boost their campaigns.

However, with Bale tied down to a contract with three years left to run, Levy still has a strong hand to play if he does not want to sell his star asset.

With the transfer window not due to open until July 1, there is no immediate rush for Bale’s future to be settled. One option is for the 23-year-old to sign a new deal with a get-out clause that can be activated in 12 months’ time. But if Spurs agree to sell this summer, the Cardiff-born star would not have any problems moving his family away.

Bale won the PFA and Football Writers’ player of the year awards and became the first Spurs player since Teddy Sheringham to score more than 20 league goals in a season.

Surely it has to be Real or United? Can't see him going another season without CL football.

Arsenal would love to get him as well. Gareth Bale is friends with a couple of Arsenal players, he doesn't have to move, he gets to play CL football and can have a similar, free role in the Arsenal team.- T2T , Oslo, United States, 26/5/2013 06:18. Ha ha, if he does move it'll be so that he can win trophies, and you say go to Arsenal?? Ha, ha, haaaaaaaaa - Charliebigchips , Bahrain, 26/5/2013 08:51 - Yeah, because Arsenal never win trophies eh? double figures in league titles, FA cups European trophies, league cups the list goes on and on. The list is almost as large the scale of your ignorance and stupidity.

Hope he stays at Sp*rs. An organically grown club that are relying on their own income and trying to crack it with the big boys. I would happily see Sp*rs up there ahead of lotto louts such as the chavs or city, at least they are trying hard and WORKING for it.

No wonder everyone thinks you Utd fans are a pack of **** hounds. You're arrogant, mouthy and show no humility what so ever. Nothing but a group of plastic glory boys who've never been further north than Watford.
