She and boyfriend Andrew Garfield are usually spotted walking their dog Ren together.

But even when he is away, Emma Stone makes sure she takes care of their beloved pooch.

The 24-year-old covered up her slender frame in an over-sized coat and ripped blue jeans as she walked the golden retriever around Tribeca in New York City on Sunday.

The Spider-Man actress paired the folded jeans with black ankle booties and a red knitted beanie.

Emma shielded her eyes with large brown shades and appeared to be wearing no makeup, rather opting to showcase her naturally flawless complexion.

She wore her blonde hair in loose waves over her shoulders, sporting a long side fringe that she swept across her forehead.

The star appeared relaxed as she took her leisurely walk, gently pulling the dog along with a stylish red leash.

The couple started to foster-to-adopt the two-year-old golden retriever in December from Saving SPOT! dog rescue in Los Angeles.

'She was one of the dogs they first saw, but they weren't sure,' a source told PEOPLE. 'They left and they couldn't stop thinking about her, so they came back for her. And it's true love.'

They finalised the adoption of Ren on Christmas Eve. The dog came from a high-kill shelter where she was surrendered by her previous owner.

Meanwhile, Emma and Andrew are currently working on Spider-Man 2, where Emma plays Gwen Stacy and Andrew plays the role of Peter Parker, AKA Spider-Man.

But between takes, they've frequently been spotted out and about around Manhattan, where they are filming.

The sequel is slated for release in April next year.

The paps should ask Emma Stone what she thinks about Amanda Bynes. Emma and Amanda were in the movie "Easy A" a few years ago. Amanda is going completely cuckoo. She's probably on a LOT of drugs and she's been frying her brain bad. Maybe Emma could call or visit her in New York to talk her into going to rehab ... preferably a lock in rehab for at least 3 months.

Such a heart warming story the way they adopted this dog. Reading it has made my soul happy. Nice people adopt dogs. Please don't buy while shelter dogs die.

Love people who get shelter dogs. Puppy mills would be out of business if more people did this.
