He still scrubs up well! Orlando Bloom ditches daddy duties for the glamour of Cannes as he promotes new film Zulu
|
These days he's usually on daddy duty with young son Flynn while his wife Miranda Kerr jet-sets all over the world.
But Orlando Bloom got his chance to be in the spotlight on Sunday as he promoted new film Zulu at the Cannes Film Festival.
Ditching his usually casual attire in favour of a smart suit and shirt, the British actor posed for pictures at the photocall ahead of the closing gala in the evening.
All dressed up: Orlando Bloom looked smart in a suit and blue shirt as he posed at the Zulu photocall in Cannes on Sunday
Despite being an A-list star, Orlando has found himself in his model wife's shadow in the last few months as her profile has dramatically risen.
But the 30-year-old Australian was nowhere to be seen at Cannes, letting her other half have his time in the limelight.
Proving that he's still as stylish as ever, the 36-year-old looked dapper as he matched a pair of loose-fitting black trousers with a light blue shirt and black blazer.
With the boys: Orlando posed up with co-stars Conrad Kemp and Forest Whitaker who star together in Zulu
Flying solo: The star seemed relaxed and confident as he posed, despite the fact that his model wife Miranda Kerr wasn't with him
In the spotlight: The actors were joined by director Jerome Salle as they smiled for the cameras
With his dark hair left slightly wavy and sporting his trademark stubble, the Pirates Of The Caribbean star looked completely relaxed as he posed, taking all of the attention in his stride.
And while his Victoria's Secret model wife was elsewhere, Orlando made do with his co-stars to put his arms around.
Clearly good pals, the actor joked around with Forest Whitaker as they smiled for the cameras, joined by Conrad Kemp and director Jerome Salle.
Eagerly-anticipated: The stars proudly posed at the photocall ahead of the red carpet gala in the evening
Closing the festival: The new film has been selected to close this year's Cannes Film Festival
In good spirits: The actor seemed in a great mood as he did the promo rounds ahead of the closing gala
The stars will all hit the red carpet as Zulu is screened as this year's closing film, having been chosen to round off the hectic week of screenings and galas.
The thriller, which is being tipped for big things, is a crime thriller set in South Africa during the apartheid era about two police officers who are investigating a homicide.
Orlando and his co-stars all headed out for an intimate dinner together the night before, eating at the Zplage Beach Restaurant.
The Pirates of the Caribbean stud will reprise his elven prince character Legolas in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, due out December 13.
Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Martin Freeman, Hugo Weaving, Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood, and Christopher Lee will join Bloom in the second to last Hobbit flick.
Back in the limelight: The actor seemed pleased to be under the spotlight again, after having a quiet few months
Good pals: Orlando and Forest seemed to be close as they put affectionate arms around each other
