Daily Presidential Tracking Poll

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 48% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Obama's job performance. Fifty-one percent (51%) now disapprove.

Today’s figures include 24% who Strongly Approve of the way Obama is performing as president and 39% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -15 (see trends).

Results are updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update).

Scott Rasmussen’s weekly newspaper column shows how “the political ground is shifting under the president’s feet.”   He adds, “If you dig just a bit beneath the surface, it becomes clear that the controversies dogging the White House have had an impact.”

There has been a 10-point swing in the GOP’s favor on the issue of which party is trusted most on issues concerning government ethics and corruption.

Obama Total Approval - May 28, 2013

Forty-two percent (42%) of voters now favor the government's use of unmanned drones to kill U.S. citizens overseas who pose a terrorist threat.   Thirty-six percent (36%) favor using the drones against terrorist threats in the United States. 

Democrats have a two-point advantage on the Generic Congressional Ballot.

Just 43% of voters now want their governor to assist with the implementation of the president’s health care law.  Forty-five percent (45%) want their governor to oppose implementation.

To get a sense of longer-term job approval trends for the president, Rasmussen Reports compiles our tracking data on a full month-by-month basis.

Daily tracking results are collected via telephone surveys of 500 likely voters per night and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. To reach those who have abandoned traditional landline telephones, Rasmussen Reports uses an online survey tool to interview randomly selected participants from a demographically diverse panel. The margin of sampling error for the full sample of 1,500 Likely Voters is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Results are also compiled on a full-week basis and crosstabs for full-week results are available for Platinum Members.
