Beyoncé has increased security at her show in London on Saturday after fears of a threat from a British stalker.

The 'Grown Woman' hitmaker is scheduled to perform at Twickenham stadium at the weekend as part of the 'Sound Of Change' concert and staff have been told to look out for 'fan' Bassey Essien, who is reportedly sending her threatening letters labelling her an imposter.

A source told The Sun newspaper: 'Staff have been briefed on the situation and pictures of him have been passed round. They've been told to keep their eyes open and be extra vigilant.

'Security has been increased on a few engagements now, especially for her UK promo. It is believed similar letters to the ones that Essien sent have been received.'

Beyonce, 31, was previously targeted by the obsessed follower when he met her at a function in London in 2009, trying to give her a book of notes he had made of his religious findings.

Despite claiming he was attempting to help the singer - who is mother to 16-month-old daughter Blue Ivy, who she has with husband Jay-Z - Bassey was sentenced with an anti-harassment order in the High Court in 2011 after several previously failed attempts to get the restriction in place.

Beyonce's spokesman has not yet responded to a request for comment.

The decision to up security comes after Beyonce's bottom was slapped by a male fan during her show in Denmark earlier this week.

Beyoncé was angered when an over-zealous fan slapped her on the bottom as she performed on stage as part of her Mrs. Carter Show world tour in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Monday night.

And the superstar was so angry at his frisky behaviour that she threatened to have him removed from the venue altogether.

On Saturday, Beyonce will return to London to perform at the Chime For Change concert at Twickenham Stadium.

The superstar singer will then kick off the North America leg of the Mrs. Carter Show in Los Angeles on June 28.

Her husband slaps her bum all the time when they are on stage! I was told by someone who was there that she called him "Big Boy" - no excuse, but no teasing Beyonce! Beyonce needs to take Sasha Fierce and bring her back into the privacy of her home!

Barbra Streisand never had to act like a pole dancer but then she was sheer talent, her voice was enough.

Cant stand looking at her anymore!! And the butt touching...bet he didn't even touch a thing...its just a big deal because she's treated like some kind of God. What does she expect when all she ever wears is corsets and tights and nothing else and then gyrates it all around the stage and on top of the public...lmao!

She was technically the victim of an assault and everyone's posting mean comments (...)

Her and JLo are so busy trying to out do each other with their routines which are more appropriate for the bedrooms or gynecological examinations they have forget that idiotic deluded fans will get the wrong end of the stick. So much for feminism when they are indirectly telling their young fans, selling sex trumps talent. As for the bottom slapping incident she doesn't sit in her dressing room without her body guard so why the seductive dancing so gleefully in from of a crowd of over excited fans with her excessive 'whip em into a frenzy routines '

The guy who slapped her ass was so inappropriate! Dressing like that is not a permission for you to touch her, some of these fans are a little crazy and think they have free reign on stars because they think they "know" them.
