      • The decorations in the dining room haven't been cleaned since the restaurant opened.  Mark works 7 days a week and has become the chef to save money.  He fears that his wife, Lisa, isn't taking any of the problems seriously.
      • Chris, a line cook at Barefoot Bob's, thinks Lisa not being around has drained Mark.  When Mark isn't at his best, it takes a toll on the quality of the food.

      • El Greco is an authentic Greek restaurant opened in 2007 by Jake and his mother, Athina.  For the first few months, business was great, but then it all fell apart.
      • The pressures of the restaurant has ruined the relationship between Athina and Jake.
      • Jake doesn't think that reheating food in the microwave compromises the quality.  Chef Ramsay can't believe that a 12-burner stove isn't being used at all.
      • The staff are embarrassed that the microwave is the most used object in the kitchen.  They also can't believe the way Jake treats his mother.  It's clear to everyone that Jake just doesn't care anymore.

      • Chef Ramsay takes the family and staff to a theater for a wake up call.  He brought reviewers from Yelp in to prove that the reviews were real and it wasn't a conspiracy against the restaurant.
      • After their visit to the theater, Chef Ramsay brings the family back to the restaurant to help clear the tension in the air.
      • Daniel finally confronts his father about how he never put money into the restaurant, it was taken from him.  He needs to at least see evidence of the fact that he is co-owner.  Chef Ramsay then reads excerpts from Alan's book about his father that match what Daniel would say about Alan.
      • Chef Ramsay teaches the cooks how to make a new burger that they put on the menu as the night's special.  The new burger gets rave reviews, the the old items are sent back as usual.
      • Daniel feels that there is still a lot of work to be done, but they are definitely moving in the right direction.  Chef Ramsay congratulated him on taking control of the kitchen and recognizing what needed to be done.

      • When Mike lost his business partner, and father, he started to let his restaurant fall apart.
      • When co-owner Nellie died, Mike and his staff didn't know what to do.  As a result, they have lost many customers and the restaurant is literally falling apart.
      • Every night, the staff just hopes to finish service.  They know there are problems, but they feel like there is nothing they can do.
      • After watching a regular night of service, Chef Ramsay is at a loss of words.  Mike doesn't trust his staff to cook the food, but one person can't do it all and have it done properly.
      • When Chef Ramsay looks through the kitchen, he makes a series of shocking discoveries.  The staff is called in immediately for a deep clean.

      • When Leone's owner, Rose, went into a coma, her son Michael stepped in to run the restaurant.  The staff has watched him run his mother's restaurant into the ground.
      • Michael thinks the decor is what is turning people off, but the staff thinks it is the management and the food.  Chef Ramsay had the staff make one of everything on the 15 page long menu.  There are obviously too many dishes for them to handle and none are appetizing.
      • Gordon has a hard time digesting what he sees in the kitchen.  Raw food is stored with cooked food, dishes are heated in the microwave, and unidentifiable rotten meat products fill the fridge.
      • Chef Ramsay takes the staff to a gallery to view photos of dishes served up by Leone's competition.  Chef Ramsay went to four restaurants, only blocks away, to take those photos.
