'I wasn't holding anybody's hand': George Clooney denies getting close to former model flame as rumours of a split with girlfriend Stacy Keibler intensifies

George Clooney has hit back at allegations that he was holding another woman's hand during a recent night out in London.

The claims come in the face of rumours that the actor's relationship with long term girlfriend Stacy Keibler is over.

In Touch reported that 52-year-old George was spotted holding the hand of his former flame and stunning Croatian model Monika Jakisic at Loulou’s members-only club over the weekend in Mayfair, London.

However, the Ocean's Eleven star has hit back at the claims calling them 'made-up'.

'The story is made up. I wasn't holding anybody's hand. Stop trying to sell magazines by creating scandal that isn't there,' he told the MailOnline exclusively.

In Touch reported in their story that George was having a ball reconnecting with Monika on his night out.

'They seemed to be having a great old time together,' an eyewitness told the publication. 'He didn't seem to care who saw them. He was being openly affectionate.'

'Lots of people were going up and saying hi to George — he didn't leave Monika's side,' they added.

'The place was packed but he didn’t seem to care who saw them inside the club. They were laughing and looked very comfortable together and were there ‘til very late.'

Despite both being photographed out the front of the venue on the night in question, the pair left separately.

'He left first and she left after him,' the sourced added.

'He didn’t want to be photographed with her. Maybe she was a shoulder for him to cry on — not that he looked like he was crying. He looked very happy — they were smitten with each other.'

George and Monika were first inked back in 2007 when she was spotted deboarding a luxurious yacht with the actor in St Tropez.

George's alleged outing with Monika comes in the face of rumours that he and girlfriend Stacy have split but are yet to announce the news.

However, whilst the couple are both in Europe, they seem content enough doing their own thing.

And apparently they are still a couple, despite an accidental slip of the tongue by George's pal Mark Wahlberg last week, sparking the initial rumours that the pair had split.

Those rumours have since been debunked as Wahlberg clarified his words.

Oh, Clooney is smart, he KNEW this would make the headlines, so I see it as his way to give a hint. It's simply an old flame, and I don't think he wants to 'recycle'. Keibler and Clooney weren't seen together since March, and even just a couple of meters away from each other lately, they didn't meet- otherwise the papers would have been full of PR-articles.

George Clooney is not that stupid- he knew this would be in the press next day. It's his way to give a hint. Holding hands, or not, he wanted this to be news.

I think that he has just decided never to marry again., and when he reaches the time in a relationship where they are either ready to commit or split, he just decides to split....... and then he just goes on to the next lady in the line, and he does the same thing again, and again.

Stacy is looking even more beautiful, he will eventually give her a handsome pay off so as not to sell the story and she will do very well thank you, there wont be any tears.

So, he denies holding anyone's hand but doesn't deny that he was out partying in London while his supposed girlfriend was out partying in Monaco? Honestly, being accused of holding someone's hand is the least of his worries right now, but glad we got that cleared up!
