There are some who would say he has had a lucky escape.

And from the wry smile on his face Liam Hemsworth certainly doesn't seem to be heartbroken following the breakdown of his four-year relationship with Miley Cyrus.

Rather than holing up indoors and binging on chocolate, the actor is keeping busy after reports emerged that he had called off their year-long engagement.

In fact Liam looking like all was well with the world as he left his gym in West Hollywood on Thursday.

The Hunger Games hunk showcased his bulging biceps in a white vest, which he teamed with black shorts and dayglo trainers.

His outing came as his former flame tweeted a picture of herself wearing a dress which bore a strong resemblance to a bridal gown.

Despite her romance troubles, she cannot afford to take a break from the public eye.

The songstress is in the midst of an intense social media marketing kick for her new song, We Can't Stop, which will drop June 3 on Ryan Seacrest's syndicated radio show.

Liam and Miley first met on the set of their film The Last Song in 2009 and had been together four years, with The Hunger Games hunk popping the question last June.

But their romance hit the rocks in February amidst rumours Miley had become jealous of Liam's close relationship with actress January Jones.

Liam had been urged by his brother, Thor star Chris Hemsworth, to dump Miley because they thought the relationship was unhealthy for him because she was so jealous.

The Australian heartthrob eventually made the decision to end things after deciding he couldn't cope with the constant drama in his romance with the former Hannah Montana star.

Miley apparently still has the 3.5 carat Neil Lane engagement ring Liam gave her and it is not known if he wants her to return the expensive sparkler. At least Miley has her music to comfort her in tough times.

Neither Liam or Miley have released ANY statement saying they have split up. It's ALL media speculation quoting anonymous "sources".....in other words made up BS stories to sell magazines. Chris Hemsworth or ANY members of his family have never said a word about any "intervention"....again just made up stories from convenient "sources & insiders".....all FAKE.

I really hope it's true and they broke it off. When they met, they were both kids. Now he's growing up and maturing and she's going in the opposite direction with her crazy hair and behavior, like a rebellious teenager. Those two do not have a future together.

I don't understand the need to get married so soon. There is plenty of time for both of them to have fun. Save marriage to a time when you want to settle down and move onto a different phase of your life. Don't rush into it.

Umm it hasn't been confirmed. They are still living together. They are probably playing everybody. Their families have never said a thing about them to DM or any other news source. Their friends and family don't talk to the media.

Why is most of the title in apostrophes? If its not confirmed why even bother reporting on it.. everything nowadays is 'claimed' to be and nothing actually is true!
